Seven women have been dumped so far, all within a few miles of each other, along rural highways and canals. Ground zero of the dump site is along highway 26, a rural road that connects to the city.

What's astounding and perplexing about the murders is that many of the victims knew each other, and two were even cousins. Like the Jack the Ripper killings, all are young women who authorities says lived "at risk" life styles, hinting a life of drugs and prostitution.

Police officials believe that the killer or killers have some knowledge of forensics, causing many of the residents to believe that the culprit is a law enforcement officer. The killer has so far successfully stymied investigators attempt at locating any of the original crime scenes, instead taking the bodies to various locations. Local authorities have brought in the FBI and behavioral analysts to assist in the investigation.

The victims are:

Loretta Chaisson,28

Ernestine Patterson,29

Kristen Lopez, 21, cousin of the lastest victim, Brittany Gary

Whitnei Dubois, 26

Loconia Brown, 23, 

Crystal Zeno, 23

Brittany Gary, 17, cousin of Kristen Lopez

Law enforcement officials have released a potential profile to the public, listed below:

1)  He is glib and charming.

2)  Self confident

3)  Appears non-threatening initially

4)  Physically strong

5)  Frequents the area where the women disappear

6)  Quick to anger, especially if rejected.

My take: 

First, my condolences to the seven families and friends of the victims for your loss. Whether some or all of the victims lived a risky life style is not revelant to the fact that they are humans...thus the investigation should move as if they were influential citizens of Jennings, Louisiana.

Secondly, the above profile list is very generic, and applies to many people, even innocent citizens. What's not on the list is something I think is very important, something that ALL women should be aware of, something that ALL serial killers needs to perform their evil deeds...he must have you alone!  

Some of my tips:

1) You are most susceptible while walking in a parking garage, especially on any of the elevated floors, including the garage's elevators and steps.  Be especially cautious of a van parked next to your vehicle.

2)  Parks and walking trails, especially those that are heavily wooded.

3)  Leaving a bar or party alone at night ( some criminals just parked and watch for a lone female to exit ). 

4)  Working in a rear garden, or working in your rear garage, and not locking your main residence doors.

5)  Watch out for drivers that "accidently" bump your vehicle late at night, or in desolate areas in the day.
