Seven Tips Supermarkets Don't Want You to Know

Take control of your weekly grocery bill with the tips included here.

Groceries are getting more expensive every time you visit the supermarket. Supermarkets want you to accept this fact and their higher prices. They don't want their customers to find strategies that save them money and cut down store profits. Take control of your weekly grocery bill with the tips included here. I know one couple who were spending about 800 bucks a month shopping at the supermarket and didn't have money left to save in their bank savings account. They used the tips collected here and now spend half that amount on food monthly. The extra saved goes into their bank account. Score!

Supermarkets are set up to make you buy impulse foods. Always create a grocery list before hitting the store. Check your fridge and cupboards. Write down the items that you really need to restock. Stick to the items on the list and avoid those impulse purchases.

Sit down every week and create a menu for the entire week. Plan weekly menu's for the entire month. Write down the items that are required to create the menu. Add these to your grocery list. This is one way to make sure that you only purchase the food items that you really require.

Create a weekly budget for grocery shopping and stick to the budget. Those who create a weekly budget are more aware of how they spend their money and keeping control on the spending. Take along a calculator and keep tabs on how much you are spending on the items. When you get close to your budget limit, stop shopping!

Another way to easily cut back on grocery spending is to reduce the amount of meat that you buy. Instead try replacing those heavy meaty meals with frozen veggies instead.

Never throw away those scraps or leftovers. Get in the habit of building meals around those leftovers. Leftover meatloaf and roast beef makes great sandwiches. Take left over veggies and make a nice thick veggie soup dish.

Buy store branded or generic foods instead of the name brand items. Name brands are over priced. Generic brands are about the same quality and might cost half the price of a name brand item.

Don't forget to use grocery coupons and store saver cards. The combination could save you hundreds per year on your grocery bill.

Have done these things all my shopping life since I was in my 20s. The only impulsive purchases I ever made were buying fruits and vegetables at bargain prices in season. I never bought too much so that I didn't have to throw out. Most meals, there were no leftovers.

I never mastered coupons though. Aside from having difficulty handling paper and cutting them out, most of them require you to buy more stuff and that makes it fine things you don't really want or need just to save money.
