The truth about the baby-boomer generation.

If former NBC News anchor, Tom Brokaw was right in characterizing those who became adults during WWII as the “greatest generation,” a distinction that is dubious at best, then the baby-boomer generation should certainly be remembered as the contemptuous generation.  While I must confess to be a member of this miserable lot, it remains the best general description of this group.  A brief look at some recent events illustrates the truth of this generalization. 

In the 1960s, the baby-boomer generation was successful in ending the Viet Nam war, assenting to the noble ideals of “love” and peace.  But “love” was merely newspeak for sex, and we went from protesting a military invasion mismanaged by LBJ, to total animosity toward all leadership, righteousness and authority, even God‘s.  As a result, the Viet Nam ended in humiliation, defeat, and death, the likes of which awaited the Soviets in Afghanistan. 

As baby-boomers replaced their elders in public school classrooms and in government offices, this generation swapped academics for social experimentation in a realm that history screamed to us would ultimately fail.  We refused to hear and the consequences have been devastating.  It cannot be a surprise to anyone that the academic knowledge of public school students has plummeted from the top spot leading the world, to barely avoiding exclusion from the list of western industrialized nations. 

We elected as our president, a man of whom it was common knowledge, was no patriot, a man who was also a serial sex-offender.  Then, when he continued his exploits in the White House, his critics were maligned and publicly humiliated by the self-righteous hypocrites of the Democrat party for stating that truth that America deserved better.  Some voted for Bill Clinton simply because, they said, “It’s time to give the other guys a chance.”  Such willful stupidity cannot be overly condemned. 

After 12 years of peace, security, economic growth and righteous leadership, some seemed to believe that we should seek out some destruction and ruin “for a change of pace.”  The United States became the laughing stock of the western world, as Clinton supporters--adamantly refusing to admit their woeful and disastrous mistake--elected him to a second term.

Meanwhile, self-righteousness disguised by the misleading label, “political correctness” replaced genuine righteousness as the dominant public viewpoint, and “tolerance” of evil replaced truth as a universal value.  It is clear to any reader, as said Thomas Jefferson, that to know the difference between right and wrong is not difficult, that tolerance of wickedness is no virtue.  But even this tolerance is counterfeit, for the “tolerant” are today, maliciously hostile to all who challenge their failing and empty worldview.  Today, we have federal court judges, born in the 1960s who routinely supplant the written words of the Constitution of the United States with their baseless personal desires in order to gain the approval of a minority of people.  In doing so, they prove themselves to be unfit to rule in any legal matter.

In the aftermath of the 9-11 attacks, it looked as if the American people might have woken up to what is really important in life, but alas, it was just a mirage.  Once the government sought to hold the terrorists responsible, many said, “I support the troops, but not the war,” a contradiction that would be laughable were it not so senseless and tragic.

Then, as if we decided once again to endure some disastrous and sinister failure for a change, we elected a man to the nation’s highest office, who was known to be a racist, whose closest friends were terrorists and mob thugs, and who cannot prove that he is a U.S. citizen, and therefore, qualified for the job.  We got exactly what we chose--incompetence, surrounded by scandal, and wrapped in lawlessness.  The fraudulent criminal that currently occupies the White House, refuses to enforce the laws that he swore to enforce, and side-steps the Constitution that he swore to uphold, and we will not hold him accountable.

Each of these things happened because a generation of self-centered, sex-obsessed and ignorant baby-boomers created this mess.  The sad irony is that those who are destroying the country, will not be those who suffer the grave consequences that lie ahead for the nation.  People often say that a loving God would not send anyone to hell, and He doesn’t--they choose it for themselves.  A better question is, How can a just God let escape, those who have done so much damage to the greatest nation on earth?
