NBC officials say that they are launching an internal investigation.  In the television business, that’s code for, looking for a way out.  But for what purpose?  Damage control?  In order to find a way to make his lies sound more like the truth?  Perhaps, they are searching for a scapegoat. 

Brian Williams is over as a news anchor.  His credibility is dead and, like Dan Rather, he will not recover from this.  He’s got as much chance of making a comeback in network news as an accountant convicted of embezzlement.  One must wonder why the $10 million NBC has been paying him each year was not enough for him?  His lies have damaged U.S. military veterans as well as tarnished the reputations of those news people who actually tell the truth to the best of their abilities.  Even the title, Journalist, has become a joke.

This is not the first time Williams has been caught lying to the American people.  His reports and statements that he made in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina are also being scrutinized.  Unfortunately, he will likely not be held accountable for facts that he did not report.  No one in network television ever is. 

NBC is not the only television network to lie overtly or by omission.  Shortly after the death of Matthew Shepard, a CBS affiliate reported a story in which 13-year-old Jesse Dirkhising was brutally and sexually-abused by two adult buggers in Arkansas.  CBS refused to run the story, opting instead, to continue saturation coverage of Matthew Shepard’s death.  Why?  Because they were pushing the radical queer agenda, and still are.

And it was not long ago that Dan Rather, hoping to smear President Bush, manufactured “evidence” that George W. had not been honest about his military service.  We must now wonder about his Viet Nam reporting.  How much of what he said he witnessed was true ?

NBC’s reporting of Hurricane Katrina, largely by Brian Williams and Andrea Mitchell, was sinister in its distortion of the truth.  Neither NBC not Williams ever mentioned crucial facts about the disaster and who had the power to prevent it.  Why?  Because they had no interest in reporting the truth if it would vindicate a Republican president.  In a courtroom, this is a crime.  In the news business, it's standard procedure.

The facts are that the day before Hurricane Katrina struck the Mississippi Gulf Coast, President Bush personally telephoned Louisiana Governor, Kathleen Blanco, a Democrat.  As a former governor, himself, he pleaded with Blanco to declare a State of Emergency so that she would have the authority to mobilize the National Guard in Louisiana and have them in place.  She refused. 

Meanwhile, Democrat mayor of New Orleans, Ray Nagin took refuge in a hotel with an aid, rather than make any arrangements for residents to evacuate the city.  His own gross negligence did not prevent him from laying blame at the feet of President Bush, however.  Despite his numerous racist remarks following the hurricane, Nagin was re-elected.

The state of Mississippi was much harder hit than was Louisiana, but people there got to work cleaning up immediately rather than wait for the federal government to rescue them.  None of these facts was reported by the three major networks.

Beware of those who attempt to soft-pedal Brian Williams’ lies as a “minor mistakes in judgment.”   This one bald-faced lie calls into question everything NBC has reported over the past eleven years of Williams’ career. 

Perhaps, this will signal a new era, in which viewers demand accountability, but it‘s not likely.  Liberals always seem to get a pass.  Ted Kennedy got away with murder, Bill Clinton with lying, illegal campaign fundraising and numerous sex crimes, Obama with Fast and Furious, Obamacare, illegal immigration, fraud and other crimes we cannot mention here, and Hillary Clinton’s negligence and lies about Benghazi will probably fade away, too.  For now. 

Nevertheless, scripture is true , “For there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.” Luke 12:2.
