Watch and learn from the apostasy of PCUSA.

The Presbyterian Church U.S.A. (PCUSA) is now dead.  After a long, tedious struggle to remain faithful to the scriptures and great Christian reformers like John Knox, the leadership of the PCUSA denomination (the liberal branch of Presbyterian churches) has thrown in the towel and surrendered to the loud and obnoxious voices of militant lesbians and mud-men.  A PCUSA church near you will soon be conducting same-sex “marriages.”  The moral high-ground in this conflict has been surrendered to Satan.

How did this happen?  It occurred as church deaths always do, with a membership that is ignorant of the scriptures.  Bring in some spiritually-dead and anti-Christian heretics.  Add a few New Age ideologies that sound “Christianese,” like ending discrimination and embracing the future, sprinkle with the words: love, community, and equality, and shake until blended.  There you have it.  A deadly cocktail of pharisaic poison.  Each ingredient by itself is harmless, but together, they create a deadly toxin that is fatal to dignity, honor, faithfulness and righteousness. 

The proponents of same-sex marriage within the PCUSA will say that the Bible is rife with marriage failures, and that is true .  Whenever people have taken it upon themselves to “help” God, as did Sarah, or help themselves, as David and Bathsheba did, things go horribly wrong.  But these days, many will then leap to the absurd nonsequitur--that the solution is to add more wrong to cure the first wrongs.  The obvious sensible conclusion is not to throw out the idea of marriage as God created it, or to pervert it as others have, but to recognize that God’s way is always best for us, and hold fast to it. 

Pro-homosexual advocates eventually get around to saying that the only “loving” course of action is to give in to the deviants.  Not so.  As knows anyone who has raised children, sometimes the only loving answer is “no.”  This is one such case.  We expect that adults are wise enough to know that it’s always a bad idea to cave-in to the demands of rebellious children.  Unfortunately, adult behavior is rare in this nation of adult-children, in which everyone from the president down to the unskilled laborer is fixated on getting his wants and desires fulfilled at the expense of someone else.

In real numbers, the defection of the PCUSA doesn’t make much of an impact on Christendom.  Its membership is at an all-time low with only about 1.8 million members.  But the real impact will be felt when other denominations like the United Methodist Church, the Catholic Church, and the Southern Baptist Church are pressured into defiling themselves, as well, or suffer persecution for their “stubbornness.” 

PCUSA members have ignorantly rejected Paul’s admonishing question, “What fellowship has light with darkness?”  Homosexuality is “very grave sin.”  That’s what God calls it, and that’s what it is.  For Presbyterians to think that God will applaud them or anyone else who shakes his fist at Him by embracing same-sex marriage, is utter lunacy.  This latest action by PCUSA leaders is simply the last nail in its coffin.  The death has been a long time coming, and it began when leaders misappropriated for themselves, the authority to supplant the truth of God’s word with the policies of sinful and unredeemed men.

Contrary to the hopes and promises of proponents of same-sex marriage, PCUSA will not expand as a result of this movement, nor should it.  (As if church expansion could ever be a compelling reason for faithlessness.)  On the contrary, its demise is now locked-in.  PCUSA churches will die the slow death of attrition, only to be cast onto the mounting scrap-heap of irrelevance.  Their recent boycott of US companies whose products are used by Israeli civilians to protect themselves from Palestinian terrorists has had little if any, effect.  They have forgotten history, and God’s promise to Abraham, “I will bless those who bless you, and curse those who curse you.”  The fact that “Palestinians” are not a people and have never been the rightful possessors of any land, is lost on the anti-Semitic hatred of Israel within the PCUSA.  Nevertheless, they zealously pursue their own destruction, all the while thinking that they are “punishing Israel” and doing something good.

The Presbyterian Church U.S.A. is committing suicide by refusing to honor God, by “giving what is holy to dogs,” by calling good, “evil” and calling evil, “good.”  They are not intelligent enough to realize that tolerance of vice is no virtue.  Do not mourn the death of this renegade church.  It was inevitable, and it’s death is a purification of the universal Church, and that’s not a bad thing.  Let’s just pray that PCUSA will serve as an object lesson in the consequences of disobedience for other churches in America that may be considering similar stupid actions.
