A Sad Day for Several Reasons

Because it’s Memorial Day weekend, Washington politicians will no doubt, once again be tripping over one another to be seen honoring the sacrifices of the brave and selfless Americans who forfeited their lives in defense of our country.  There will be public speeches and photo-ops.  Some of these will be inspirational and other will be self-serving.  The mainline media will dutifully record these events.  Elsewhere in the United States, anti-Americans will use this occasion as an opportunity to oppose flags and crosses and any other symbol of religious freedom.  They will confuse freedom with liberty and license.

Democrat politicians will search out members of minority groups, exalt them above measure and promise to fight for them.  They will attempt to demonstrate that these few were not treated fairly and, in doing so, provoke division among the ungrateful and arrogant.  They do this for their own career advancement, because they cannot put partisanship aside, for even this single day.

In many ways, Memorial Day 2016 is much like every other.  But this year is different in that the corruption and depravity that liberal politicians have wrought upon this land demonstrate that this America is no longer worthy of the lives offered to defend it. 

No sane person lays down his life so that government leaders can steal from the people in order to keep themselves perpetually in office.  No honorable person risks his life so that transvestites can parade around in public and impose their debauchery on innocent children and women.  No sensible person dies so that marriage can be perverted by the courts and Planned Parenthood can butcher infants in order to sell their body parts to the highest bidders.

For the first time in American history, a socialist is running a campaign for president of the United States.  For the first time in history, a former Secretary of State who is known to have put the U.S. national security at risk for nothing more compelling than her own convenience, is certain to be her political party’s presidential candidate.  For the first time in history, we have a sitting president who routinely violates U.S. law and the Constitution, and who ordered sexual deviants into the restrooms of school children.

If politicians genuinely want to honor the military men and women who surrendered their lives for the freedom that America enjoys, they would honor the oaths they each swore to protect and defend the United States and the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic. 

If law-makers appreciated their own freedom and realized that it was bought with the precious blood of others, they would stop treating it as something profane and use their liberty to unite people, inspiring them to moral excellence instead of dividing them by sin preference.

If the American people were determined to honor the memories of their lost soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines, we would stop electing people to political office who, through every word and act, defile the character and dignity of their sacrifices.  That’s the noble nation America used to be.  It’s the nation America can be again.
