The facts about Israel and the PLO that no one else will tell you. Hint: There are no "Palestinians."

On Wednesday, Barack Obama’s Secretary of State, John Kerry held his final press conference in which he addressed the United Nations’ resolution condemning Israeli settlements as a threat to peace.  “If Israel goes down the one state path, they will never have true peace with the rest of the Arab world,” Kerry added.  For the Obama administration, the decision to permit the U.N. resolution against Israel to pass serves two purposes.  One is to punish Israel, and the second is to create an eruption of administrative brushfires in order to harm incoming President Donald J. Trump.

This year-end United Nations resolution is just the latest atrocity of the anti-Semitic Obama administration. The United Nations has passed 20 anti-Israel resolutions in the past year, and only 3 against other nations.  Obama’s hatred for Israel runs deep.  In 2015, the administration hired 270 Strategies, a consulting firm whose senior members were primarily former agents of Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.  At Obama’s order, 270 Strategies sent operatives to Israel in an effort to cause the defeat Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu in his election campaign. 
 
For his part, treachery is nothing new for Iran nuclear arms deal negotiator, John Kerry.  After serving only a few months in Viet Nam and producing a home movie of his “tour of duty,” Kerry returned to the United States and promptly began accusing his fellow soldiers of war crimes before a congressional subcommittee.  Thus was Kerry’s entry into Democrat politics. 

Of the latest U.N. resolution, Secretary Kerry said, “In the end, we could not in good conscience protect the most extreme elements of the settler movement as it tries to destroy the two-state solution.”  The truth is that ending the settlements will not facilitate peace.  It’s a pipe-dream that has been tried and failed.  In 2000, former president, Bill Clinton attempted to negotiate a land-for-peace agreement between Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Barak and Palestinian Liberation Organization (P.L.O.) leader, Yassir Arafat.  Arafat refused the deal that would have halted Israeli settlements in the West Bank and Gaza, but the Palestinians proved that peace with Israel is not an objective for them. 

In fact, the Palestinian Authority, led by Mahmoud Abbas of the Fatah party, refuses to recognize Israel’s right to exist as a nation.  The Palestinian Authority (P.A.) and the P.L.O. which were declared terrorist organizations by a U.S. federal court in New York City in 2015, pays an estimated $140 million per year to terrorists and their families to conduct attacks on Israelis.  That money, which represents 10% of the P.A.’s annual budget includes foreign aid from the United States and other nations.  Despite the court’s decision, the Obama administration has continued to send U.S. tax dollars to the Palestinian Authority.

Thanks in part to media distortion, the ignorance of the average American about the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Authority is extraordinary.  Today, the Palestinian Authority is populated by members of the terrorist group, Hamas.  The area known as Palestine is an anachronistic term given to the northern section of Israel by the Roman Empire.  It is not a definite geographical area, and the Palestinian Arabs are not now, nor have they ever been, a people. 

Other Arab nations in the Middle East have been asked repeatedly to provide refuge to the “Palestinians,” including Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Saudi Arabia.  They all refused to take them.  The Palestinians serve a useful purpose to Israel’s hostile Arab neighbors as a wedge between Israel and the rest of the world.

Sadly, some mainline churches in the United States have joined themselves to the anti-Semitic bigots in the Obama administration and the U.N.  The Presbyterian Church USA (P.C.U.S.A.) and the United Church of Christ (U.C.C.) both engage in B.D.S. (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) actions against Israel in efforts to punish Israel for their “occupation” and for building new settlements.  The ignorant and malicious BDS campaign has had little or no detrimental effect upon the Jewish people, but have boomeranged back upon the renegade churches. 

Apparently, the P.C.U.S.A. and U.C.C. either don’t know or don’t believe God’s promise to Israel found in Genesis 12:3 where God said to Abraham, “I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you.”  Both denominations are hemorrhaging members at higher rates than other mainline churches.  At their 2016 General Conference in Portland, Oregon, the United Methodist Church wisely voted to abandon the B.D.S. movement. 

Israel lives under constant threat of violence and murder from Palestinian terrorists within her borders.  As a result of the recklessly dangerous policies of the Obama administration, bringing tens of thousands of Muslim refugees into this country, we may soon learn first-hand what living in fear has become like for Israel.  Perhaps, we too, will one day be the target of U.N. sanctions for building settlements within our own borders near Muslim-controlled areas.
 
The United States of America and the nation of Israel are unique among the nations of the world.  Both were founded upon faith in the One True God and the founders of both nations realized that they were dependent upon His Providence and still are.  We will rue the day we deceive ourselves into disregarding this fact.
