Who is ultimately responsible the violence against police, lawmakers and conservatives?

Investigators had not yet learned how 66-year-old James T. Hodgkinson acquired the weapons he used to gun down five members of the Congressional Republican charity softball team before the real cause of Wednesday’s deadly violence was leaching into public view.  Writing for the ultra left-wing Huffington Post, Jesse Benn asked, “What’s more harmful: Putting millions on the margins more at-risk with draconian policies, or shooting a racist in the hip?” 

Benn’s false and sinister characterization of Republican Congressional Majority Whip, Steve Scalise, as a racist is based on nothing more than two simple facts: 1) Scalise is a Republican, and, 2) the Louisiana Congressman unwittingly gave a speech in 2002, to a group allegedly associated with former Ku Klux Klan member, David Duke.  The racism charge was first made by the corrupt Obama administration. 

Swift public backlash caused the Huffington Post to pull Benn’s comments, but not before they had already spawned similarly violent and despicable posts, that are both ignorant and false.  These malignant posts continue to circulate on left-wing Democrat fake news websites as well as social media. 

What is known about Hodgkinson is that he was a rabid Bernie Sanders supporter who lived in Illinois.  Hodgkinson reportedly fired some 50 rounds from a semiautomatic rifle, but was able to hit his targeted victims with only five.  He died as a result of gunshot wounds received when Capitol Police returned fire.  

In early reporting, CBS News sought to use the tragedy to smear Congressional Republicans and President Trump for their opposition to enacting restrictive, onerous and unconstitutional gun laws, rather than blaming the ignorance and mental instability of leftist Democrats who populate “the resistance,” for the violence.  But the fuel for the obscene protests, hate-saturated diatribes against President Trump and Congressional Republicans, and these acts of violence, is the perpetual flood of false narratives advanced by fake news outlets, including CBS. 

For the poisonous programming of the minds of Democrat supporters, the media is squarely to blame.  Since the 1960s, the reckless mainstream media have been proliferating false stories and outright lies about every public policy issue, under the inane maxim that perception is reality.  Therefore, the media must share responsibility for the violence that predictably proceeds from their own dirty deeds. 

Just one day after the Alexandria shooting, the New York Times printed an absurd editorial which blamed former Alaska Governor and Republican Vice Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, for inciting the 2011 shooting of Arizona Congresswoman, Gabriel Giffords, in Tucson.  Shooter Jared Loughner had, in fact, been stalking Giffords for three years before he went to a supermarket and fired upon 19 people, killing six and seriously wounding 13 including Giffords. 

The Times blamed Sarah Palin, because she had posted on her website, the images of a number of Democrat politicians targeted for electoral defeat, under a crosshair resembling a rifle scope.  The truth is that Loughner never saw Palin’s posts, and the Times knew this to be the case, but printed the lies anyway.  The Times has since been compelled to correct the outrageously libelous accusation, but only after Governor Palin called them on it.  (Note that the Times does not retract false stories; they merely “correct” them.)

To the radical left and their accomplices in the news media, facts are less important than perception.  Specious unsourced and unverifiable accusations making news today, are no more credible than Wendy Williams' gossip program, and newspapers, less believable than the National Enquirer.  There is no longer any accurate presentation of facts, information or thoughtful analysis.  What makes this kind of deception so dangerous and destructive is that those who have been told what to think and how to feel by public school educators, college professors and ignorant repulsive celebrities, will not examine the facts for themselves, nor are they able to.  They simply regurgitate the fallacies and baseless opinions they read and hear without any testing or scrutiny whatsoever.

America stands at a dangerous crossroad.  We have become deeply divided over the most fundamental beliefs such as the meaning of the Constitution, respect for law enforcement, and tragically, what constitutes a marriage.  No nation so divided, can long stand. 

Fraudulent news agencies will not repent on their own.  Like the New York Times, the Huffington Post and CBS, they must be compelled to forfeit their radical-leftist agenda or be driven out of business, because there is nothing noble in instigating murder and mayhem.
