Democrats need a new lie and a rational argument regarding federal tax policy.

No sooner had President Trump announced his plan for major tax reform, than the usual suspects in the Democrat media cabal of ABC, CBS, NBC and cable networks, began “raising questions” about his plans.  Clearly, President Trump has established goals that will energize the U.S. economy, but it is Congress that raises revenue and sets tax policy, not the president.   

Democrats and their media allies will certainly do everything they can to convince the American people that tax cuts benefit only the wealthy and, at the expense of the middle class and the poor.  We have heard it all before.  They will distort facts, omit the truth and spotlight marginal citizens who will claim that they will be adversely affected if tax reductions are passed. 
 
By far, the most offensive fallacy raised by media anchors is the inane suggestion that tax cuts must be “paid for.”  This is interesting since Democrats are never concerned about where tax dollars will come from to fund massive wealth redistribution programs.  The truth is that wasteful federal programs--not tax cuts, must be “paid for.”  There is no Constitutional amendment that requires government spending to increase every year, although Democrats probably believe that there should be one.

Already, President Trump’s tax plan, the details of which have not been made public, is coming under attack from Democrats and the media, and already, the president is being accused of promoting massive tax cuts for the wealthy.  Why should the wealthy be compelled to pay exorbitant tax rates of over 50% of their annual income?  Why should anyone?  Because Democrats have so convinced their low-information constituents to envy and hate those who have built successful businesses that corporate heads are routinely demonized without cause.

It should be acknowledged that Congress has wasted every dime of earnings that Social Security and Medicare have accumulated.  In addition, members of Congress have overburdened U.S. taxpayers with a $20 trillion national debt.  Former House Speaker, John Boehner promised to resist the Obama administration’s efforts to raise the debt ceiling.  Boehner broke each of those promises.  Now, House Speaker, Paul Ryan is again calling for a hike in the debt ceiling. 

Whenever the media claims that Republican policy initiatives are raising questions, or causing controversy, viewers should be very skeptical.  In this way, the Democrat media networks are actually causing controversy and they are usually the only ones raising questions. 

American taxpayers desperately need tax relief.  One of the most effective ways to ensure that they get it is to end the wasteful and abominable Obamacare scheme, and return to the people, the power to make their own health care decisions.  Supporters of President Trump will have to demand that members of Congress give them both.
