Rather than being kind, tolerance of sin denies the power of God to restore sinful hearts.

Former president George W. Bush once criticized what he called, “the soft bigotry of low expectations.”  Charges of racism and bigotry abound in our politically-corrupt culture today.  Bigotry is a hard word that is often used to bash and crush the righteous, or silence their verbal opposition to sin.  As often as not, it is abused, misapplied and employed as a covert mechanism to shift blame from those bent toward evil onto the innocent and the harmlessly decent who warn of impending doom. 

Like all liberal dogma, accusations of bigotry are exactly backward from reality.  Those who discharge the incendiary rhetoric, are usually those most culpable.  Even worse, is the fact that today, many who are joining them are professing Christians. 

It’s clear to any honest and intelligent person in America that the real mastermind of liberal doctrine within the Democrat party and the culture at large, is Satan.  The Devil has claimed millions of victims because the Church surrendered to intimidation decades ago. 

Many mainline churches are repositories for deserters of Christ who have conceded their authority over the world without ever having attempted to use it.  Rather than merely being captured as prisoners of war and immobilized, however, they have been sent back into the battle on the losing side.  They become pawns serving as obstacles to the armies of God, using their master’s original tactic of deceit to confuse, weaken and malign genuine Christians.

Some have generously called these deserters, nominal Christians, but this is a misnomer.  Actually, they are counterfeits and frauds, camouflaged by ritualism and pseudo-spiritual speech in order to invade the holy camps and conduct their demolition work, largely undetected. 

These fake Christians have several common and distinctive features.  They join with the fallen world in condemning the righteous judgment of sin and the proper shunning of heresies.  Such false prophets preach unconditional love and acceptance to the exclusion of righteousness, truth or justice.  As a result, the blind do not see, the captives are not set free, and the poor are not having the gospel preached to them. 

At the opening of 2018, American culture stands at the eve of spiritual destruction.  Decades of proud humanists have lied to the masses, professing that the flaws of the human heart can be overcome merely by applying discipline to corrupt minds.  Their folly has led us to the edge of the abyss.  Tolerance and coerced acceptance of sin have spawned an explosion of crime, very grave sin and unimaginable turpitude.  The fifty-year social experiment has been an utter failure on every level. 

Americans have allowed pseudo-intellectuals to tell us that tolerance of sin is somehow inherently noble.  But the truth is that tolerance of vice is no virtue, and hatred of sin is no vice.  Tolerance of sin denies the power of God to restore sinful hearts.  Rather than being kind, tolerating the ravages of sin is ignoble, cowardly and hateful. 
 
In an earlier era, wisdom was far more prevalent than it is now.  Benjamin Franklin once said, “Sin is not hurtful because it’s forbidden; it is forbidden because it’s hurtful.”  Franklin was no Christian, but he had seen numerous lives ruined by unrestrained carnal desire. 

What can be done now?  Refuse to be intimidated by the foul lies of Satan’s obnoxious and belligerent minions.  Do exploits--not with steel blades, bullets or bombs, but with a far more potent weapon–the Truth of the Word of God.  Work to rescue those whose minds are numbed by the narcotics of tolerance and self-righteousness.  Finally, lift up Christ and pray that God will draw people to Himself. 

America became great because its people were faithful to moral law and thankful to God for His mighty hand of provision upon our land.  America can be great again by no other means.
