Having shown themselves to be utterly dishonest and hopelessly corrupt, fake news netwerks must be relegated to the scrap heap of other Soviet-style relics.

With the House Intelligence Committee memo now safely in the public domain, Democrats and their disreputable media allies have manned their respective battle stations to discredit it.  The document exposed the fraudulent basis for surveillance of Trump associates before and after the 2016 presidential election.  It further illustrated that the special investigation into Russian collusion with Donald Trump is a fabricated political hoax. 

Democrats and media scalawags first attempted to prevent the report’s release by claiming that it would be damaging to the important work performed by the FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ).  When that failed, they set out to impugn Republicans by referring to the House Intelligence Committee report as “the GOP memo,” thereby implying that it had been contaminated with partisan bias.  But that scheme was only partially effective.  They then moved on to attack the memo’s accuracy by accusing Republicans of “cherry picking” facts—the very sort of selective editing that occurs in every network and cable news broadcast. 

In the House report, Americans became aware of a terrifying betrayal of their government.  We discovered the fraudulent means used by Obama appointees in the DOJ and FBI, the Democratic National Committee and the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign, to scuttle, undermine and cripple the presidential campaign of Donald Trump.  Subsequently, the same elements with the gleeful aid of dishonest news media, continued to thrust their concocted narrative upon the people through illegal anonymous intelligence leaks.  This massive political scandal is to Watergate what capital murder is to jaywalking. 

For over a year, the national news and cable networks have persistently repeated false and misleading statements which present the impression that substantial evidence exists to validate a cause for an investigation into the Trump campaign and presidency.  Today, we know that all of these were illusions—that the sole basis for the special investigation into Trump-Russia election interference was nothing other than a sleazy partisan smear. 

President Trump has endured much criticism for his Twitter activity.  “It’s not presidential,” said some.

“It’s unseemly,” others mocked.

“I wish he would just stop tweeting,” protested many.

During the 2016 presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton told her supporters, “We don’t need a Commander-in-Chief who can be provoked by a tweet.”  And yet, President Trump has been able to use the social media platform for his purposes with stunning effectiveness to do something that Republicans may not have been able to imagine.  His tweets allow him to bypass the crooked news media. 

The release of the memo established a new paradigm for conservative Republicans.  From this day on, conservatives in Congress and the White House must embrace social media, alternative media, radio and other new forms of communication.  They cannot rely on traditional news outlets to give them a fair hearing.  It hasn’t happened in fifty years and it’s unreasonable to expect that the radical leftists who populate the networks will suddenly become honest or set aside their extreme liberal biases. 

Internet television is a growing industry that shows great promise.  As the United States faces more serious threats at home and abroad, people need to be able to trust that the information they see and hear is accurate, honest and complete.  Network television viewers have been deprived of that assurance, as more and more Americans are learning.

The stark contrast between the eight dismal years of Obama’s godless, radical liberalism and the first year of President Trump has demonstrated that the way most Americans live their personal lives is also the best approach for the nation. 

We learned disturbing facts about our government this week, horrible and sinister things that we must never tolerate or accept.  Freedom and the righteous use of personal, religious and political liberty are precious birthrights that cannot be taken for granted.  They must be defended and protected by any means and by all means necessary.

Thomas Jefferson reminded the citizens of his time, “the cost of liberty is eternal vigilance.”  The days and years ahead will determine if Americans are willing to pay it’s price.
