“It’s right over my right!” Barney Hill screamed. “God! What is it, Betty?” He pulled the car off to the side of the road and began looking around for a weapon, a giggle of fear escaping his lips.
“I told you, Barney!” Betty shrieked, her voice rising hysterically. “I told you it was following us! You never listen!” She started to moan as their dachshund, Delsey barked wildly in the back seat.
“I’ll fight it off, Betty,” he whispered solemnly. “I’m not afraid!” Barney got slowly out of the car, and walked up the road towards the circling object in the sky. To him it looked like a big, silver pancake, with rows of windows that curved around the side.
“Barney, you damn fool!” Betty shouted from the car. “Barney! Barney! Get back! What’s wrong with you?”
The object was closer now, and Barney could see several men, all lined up at the windows. One man appeared to be the leader and was dressed in a shiny black coat, with a cap on. His eyes were large gaping holes, slanted to a point.
“I feel like a rabbit,” Barney whispered in the darkness. “I feel like a rabbit.”
He stumbled, running as fast as he could back to the car, mumbling over and over, “I’ve got fortitude, I can drive a car.” Slamming the car shut, he screamed, “watch it, watch it, Betty! They’ll capture us!”
“Look out! Look out! Now! You can see them, Betty! They’re right overhead now! They’re right directly over the car, Betty! Oh, God!”
Barney slammed on the breaks as the large flying craft stopped to hover over the road, suddenly blocking their way, and lighting up the highway in splashes of orange and red flashing lights. A group of six men came down a ramp at the base.
“What are you doing?” Betty sobbed. “Start the car! Start the car, Barney! They’re coming!”
Feeling he was instructed to do so, Barney closed his eyes tightly. The men approached the car and opened his door, carrying him up a ramp and into the awaiting craft.
“Barney! Wake up! Barney!” Betty sobbed loudly as the other three men came to her door and grasped her arms, carrying her towards the ramp.
“Oh, is his name Barney?” The man walking beside her asked.
“Barney! Barney, dammit! Wake up!”
“Is his name Barney?” He asked again, almost polite, businesslike. “Don’t be afraid. We’re not going to harm you, but we just want to do some tests. When the tests are over with, we’ll let you get back to your trip.”
Betty struggled at the ramp, refusing to go into the spacecraft.
“Oh, go on,” the man said with irritation. “The longer you fool around out here, the longer it’s going to take. You might as well go on and get it over with. We haven’t got much time either.”
With a helpless feeling, Betty let herself be escorted into the spacecraft, and into a small room.
The examiner instructed her to stand in front of a metal table. “Take off your dress.”
She paused.
“Does it zip in the back? Is that the problem?” He asked, walking behind her and unzipping it himself. Her dress slipped to pool around her ankles. He directed her to the table, then he started probing her body. He came forward with a large needle, sticking it into her navel.
“It hurts!” She squealed. “Take it out! Take it out! Oh, God!”
The leader quickly came into the room and passed his hands over her eyes. “It’s okay now. You won’t feel anything else now. That was just the pregnancy test.”
“Thank you for making my pain go away,” she spoke with grateful tears in her eyes. “You know, no one will ever believe me. Most people don’t even know that you exist. Where are you from? Because I know you’re not from Earth.”
The leader laughed. “What do you know about the universe?”
“Nothing, really.” She felt like sobbing again.
He showed her a star map and pointed at a group of little dots that made up his star system, showing her the trade routes and exploration tracks.
Suddenly, there was a great commotion in the hall. Some of the men came in, very excited, shouting. The examiner came over to her and grasped her jaw, demanding to see her teeth. He started tugging.
“Oh, I can’t figure it out,” the examiner said. “Barney’s teeth just came out!”
“Barney has dentures,” Betty said. “When people get old, sometimes their teeth fall out and they get dentures.”
“What is old?”
“Well, it varies, and not all people will get dentures, but with old age…”
“What is old age?”
“Well,” she paused. “I don’t know but I think we can live to almost a hundred, so sixty or seventy would be old.”
“A hundred what,” the examiner asked, urgent now.
“Years,” she said, confused.
Abruptly, the other men brought Barney out into the hall and the examiner said, “we’ll find you again if we have more questions. All right now, let’s get you and Barney back in the car. You’re going to forget everything now.”
Betty was overwhelmed with happiness and was escorted back to the car with Barney.
“Heh, heh, Betty,” Barney chuckled. “That’s the
funniest thing, Betty. The funniest thing. I never believed in
flying saucers before but—I don’t know. Mighty mysterious.
Yeah, well, I guess I won’t say anything to anybody about
this. It’s too ridiculous, isn’t it? Oh yes, really funny.
Wonder where they came from? Oh gee, maybe this will
prove the existence of God,” he paused. “Isn’t that funny,
Betty? To look for the existence of God on another planet?
Were you scared? I wasn’t. Nope. I wasn’t afraid.
Ridiculous to talk about it.” He laughed a little, and then
paused for a long time, his hands lightly on the steering wheel.
“Well—it looks as if we’re getting into Portsmouth a little later
than I expected…” He looked over at Betty, pausing from
uncertainty now. “Later than expected.”

I’ve never seen an alien, spaceship or otherwise, but after reading Betty and Barney Hill’s transcript, I am afraid. What I learned after their story, though, is more terrifying than even their capture.

It was early in the morning on February 20, 1954, and President Eisenhower was anxious. The secret service had shepherded him away from his contrived vacation in Palm Springs, California for a highly classified meeting at Edwards Air Force Base, and he was now being led down a dark corridor. Already his mind was working on a cover story to feed the press. He decided on a dental emergency. He’d even bring the dentist along to the official fundraising function tomorrow night. He’d say that he lost a tooth cap while eating fried chicken. It was perfect.
“They are awaiting your audience, Mr. President,” one of his escorts announced. President Eisenhower stepped eagerly into the room, reaching forward to shake hands with his new Alien Ambassador to the United States. He suppressed the urge to laugh maniacally as terms were discussed for the Treaty.
***
This missing time spent at the Edwards Air Force Base has proven to be one of the most extraordinary events in human history. President Eisenhower was actually conducting a “First Contact” meeting with Large-Nosed Greys from the Zeta Reticuli star system, which was the beginning of a series of subsequent meetings, leading to the signing of the Treaty.
The Treaty proclaimed that the aliens would not interfere in human affairs, that humans would not interfere in theirs, and that they would not make such a Treaty with any other Earth nation. If Eisenhower could keep their existence secret, they would furnish the United States with advanced hyperspace technology (perhaps advanced over a billion years). In exchange, the Large-Nosed Greys were allowed to continue human abduction and mutilations on a limited and periodic basis for the purpose of medical examination and to monitor human development.
In an attempt to protect human rights, President Eisenhower stipulated that the humans would not be harmed, that the mutilations would be confined to animals, that they would be returned to their point of abduction, and that they would have no memory of the event, which was guaranteed by the advanced mind-control capabilities of the Large-Nosed Greys.
The United States and the Alien Nation would each receive an Ambassador for as long as the Treaty remained in force. It was agreed that the Alien Nation and the United States would initially exchange sixteen people / aliens (called guests) with each other for the purpose of “learning.” One of the guests, His Omnipotent Highness KRLL, or Original Hostage KRLL (O. H. KRLL, origin of pseudonym KRLL unknown) was chosen as the Alien Ambassador to the United States and furnished an abundance of information on the history of his race, which became the foundation of the “Yellow Book.”
They declared that humans were a hybrid (because of the O- blood type) created by their race. In an attempt to hasten civilized human development, they maintain that they even created Jesus and the Christian religion, as proven by their Yellow Book. The book allows them to visibly and audibly show any part of history, including the Crucifixion of Christ, which some members of the Majority-12 have supposedly seen and were allowed to film.
Along with KRLL, the other fifteen alien guests were held prisoner in Los Alamos, New Mexico. They were treated well, fed strawberry ice cream, and enjoyed the far eastern music of Tibet. It was also discovered that they had an exceptional IQ of more than 200, in comparison to humans, and that they have a tendency to lie.
Military records have recognized that there are over forty types of known aliens, though only four commonly come to Earth: the Large-Nosed Greys, a blond human-type called the Nordic, a red-haired human-type called the Orange, and the Gray, a slightly meaner and less sophisticated (minion of sorts) of the Large-Nosed Greys.
The Large-Nosed Greys are documented in military records as looking like skinny humans with large heads, standing a little over three feet tall, with a prominent snout-like nose, large, black tear shaped eyes at a 35-degree slant, and tough, gray skin. Scientific tests have confirmed that they have a nonfunctioning digestive (they were atrophied) system, and organs much like humans.
After further testing, it was discovered that they convert food to energy by means of chlorophyll through photosynthesis and that their waste products are excreted through the skin. They also have two separate brains that are divided by a mid-cranial lateral bone partition, with no known connection to the two functionally. Such a separation suggests an extraordinarily advanced evolutionary system, and the capacity for telepathic communication and manipulation.
Simple alien abductions became downright terrifying when, in late 1979, a discovery was made that the Large-Nosed Greys were implanting tiny probes, about 3 millimeters in size, into the brains of certain abductees. These implants could control the human hypnotically and telepathically. Advanced hypnosis was used on the abductees to determine the nature of such implants, and it was revealed that such attempts triggered life-threatening reactions and death. Quite a few died.
It was also revealed after hypnosis that female abductees were often used in crossbreeding experiments, with disastrous consequences. And females that were pregnant before abduction returned, minus a fetus. Men were usually ejaculated (under duress or hypnosis), and their semen was saved for further experimentation and breeding trials.
After intense questioning, the Large-Nosed Greys admitted that they were using human and animal parts for sources of glandular secretions, enzymes, hormonal secretions, and blood, as well as in horrible genetic experiments. They stated that their genetic structure had deteriorated after billions of years of existence and that they were no longer able to reproduce, and that their actions were necessary for future survival. They had to continue with the mutilations. If not, their race would cease to exist.
To keep closer track of the alien encounters, President Eisenhower had commissioned MJ-12 (or the Majority-12) under the Jason Society umbrella as a secret control, after its establishment by order of President Harry S. Truman in 1947. The Majority-12 would take charge of the technical, sociological, and other aspects of the crashed unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and recover the small alien occupants, dead or alive.
The society was originally comprised of 32 of the most prominent men in the country, including: President Harry Truman, President Eisenhower, President John F. Kennedy, President Hoover, President George Bush, Dr. Henry Kissinger, Nelson Rockefeller, the director of the CIA Allen Welsh Dulles, the Secretary of State John Foster Dulles, the Secretary of Defense Charles E. Wilson, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Arthur W. Radford, and six men from the executive committee of the Council on Foreign Relations known as the “Wise Men.” The group continues to function today (although none of the original members are still alive) and has had the responsibility of establishing an ongoing relationship with the Large-Nosed Greys from the third planet of the star system Zeta Reticuli.
For security measures, any member of the Majority-12 that defected would suffer any one of the following direct consequences: a verbal warning, a stronger warning with overt intimidation of their family, confinement in “detention centers,” confinement in “insane asylums” where they will be treated with stages of mind-control, to be released only when their identity and memory are altered, psychological work-ups on the defector to bring on depression and lead to suicide, murder of the defector and made to appear as an accident or suicide, or strange or sudden accidents, always fatal.
Moreover, the Large-Nosed Greys were required to furnish Majority-12 and the National Security Agency (NSA) with a list of all human contacts and abductees on a regularly scheduled basis.
The list was to be secured for later government follow-up if such persons, when released, required medical assistance or psychological adjustment. Unfortunately, this list has since become a point of great contention for the United States as the number of abductees has risen to over three million and the list furnished by the aliens has only half that number listed.
Documented in the KRLL papers, in 1987, one of the Nordics contacted the Majority-12 and made the following comments: “Were you a culture about to invade, you would not do it with a flourish of ships and undergo risk of being fired upon. That’s the type of warfare that the slightly less evolved get into. The Large-Nosed Greys are insidious little fiends. They did exactly to us what they’re doing here to you. You are not on the verge of an invasion. The invasion is already taking place. You would present yourself to some powerful group, who would protect you, and they would covet you, and you could trap them with their own mass stupidity. You would sit back and laugh if you had the capacity to laugh. You would start doing crossbreeds and more crossbreeds, generation after generation. Maybe one or two hundred years from now, the races would even physically mingle and you may have some creatures walking around who are pretty much hybrids between us and your own race. Anything that walked around would look like a human.”

To begin the trade of technologies, the Treaty supplied the Large-Nosed Greys with secret bases of operation within the United States. One of the first, an enormous underground facility called Area-S4 (Nevada), was built between 1972 and 1973. The bargained technology was brought in (though only aliens could operate it) and confused bouts of training began. There are now over thirty-five alien bases in the United States alone, including two in Nevada, one in Logan, Utah, and the largest, the alien headquarters, located South West of Big Timber in Montana.
There is also an officially recognized base on the far side of the Moon called Luna. Military reports substantiate that in accordance with Majority-12 defection measures, President Kennedy’s assassination was largely connected to the exposure of aliens before he would allow Apollo 11 to land on the Moon.
However, in 1969, Apollo 11 traveled to the Moon and landed near Luna, miles from their original course, and their reactions confirm that they hadn’t been briefed (as per Kennedy’s suggestion) on what they would find there. Classified military documents reported that Neil Armstrong and his crew were treated to views of the huge alien spacecraft near their landing site. Radio hams that bypassed NASA’s broadcasting picked up the following chatter:
NASA: “What’s there? Mission Control calling Apollo 11...”
Apollo 11: “These babies are huge, Sir! Enormous! Oh my God! You wouldn’t believe it! I’m telling you there are other spacecraft out there, lined up on the far side of the crater edge! They’re on the Moon watching us!”
NASA immediately censored the message and the astronauts were ordered to return to Earth when the extraterrestrials reportedly milled about their spacecraft in a hostile manner.
During a NASA symposium, an unnamed professor was overheard in the following off-record discussion with Neil Armstrong:
Professor: “What really happened out there with Apollo 11?”
Armstrong: “It was incredible, of course we had always known there was a possibility, the fact is, we were warned off! There was never any question then of a space station or a moon city.”
Professor: “How do you mean warned off?”
Armstrong: “I can’t go into details, except to say that their ships were far superior to ours both in size and technology. Boy, were they big! And menacing! No, there is no question of a space station now.”
Professor: “But NASA had other missions after Apollo 11?”
Armstrong: “Naturally. NASA was committed at that, and couldn’t risk panic on Earth. But it really was a quick scoop and back again.” Armstrong then refused to go into further detail, citing fears of concealment threats, beyond admitting that the CIA and NASA were behind the cover-up.

Peculiar whooshing noises came from the downstairs living room. Whitley Strieber closed his eyes, deciding that the sound was too strange to worry about. He listened to his wife snoring softly beside him and pulled his covers up to his neck.
Moments later his eyes snapped open as his bedroom door began moving slowly. He sat up quickly, listening as hard as he could. In the soft light emitted by the burglar alarm mounted above the bed, he watched in horror as a small figure moved carefully into the room.
It was too small to be a person, unless it was a child. It stood about three and a half feet tall, altogether smaller and thinner than his son.
It had a rounded hat, with an odd, sharp rim that jutted out, like a flattened baseball cap. He saw two dark holes where the eyes should be and a black, somewhat frowning line of a mouth. It wore a square plate etched with concentric circles that stretched from just below the chin to the waist. It looked like a breastplate, or like an armored vest. On it’s lower half, it wore rectangle plates of the same sort, covering the lower waist to just above the knees.
The figure rushed suddenly into the room and everything went black.
When Whitley awoke, he was startled to find that he was sitting up, with his hands in his lap, and his body paralyzed. Fighting panic, he tried to look around.
He was sitting in a dirty room. He was so scared that he felt as if his personality had evaporated, leaving only mind-numbing insanity. His paralysis seemed a condition now close to death. He thought he was choking. “Help! Oh, God!” He screamed. “Help me! Help me!”
Tiny people were now moving around him at great speed. Their quickness was disturbing, and he thought, in a curious way, ugly. An extremely shiny, long needle was held above his head, and he felt that they were telling him something. A small object would be inserted in his brain. Crazed with terror, he started to argue, “No, no no, stop! You’ll ruin my mind! Stop! Stop! Stop!”
One of them, who sounded almost feminine, asked, “we’ll be done soon. What can we do to help you stop screaming? We need you to hold still.”
Unexpectedly, Whitley heard himself say, “you could let me smell you.” He felt embarrassed.
“Oh, okay,” a masculine voice to his right, said. “I can do that.” A skinny arm pressed against his face. The odor was distinct, smelling slightly of cardboard, with an organic sourness. It was not a human smell, but it was unmistakably the scent of something alive. He thought he detected a hint of cinnamon. He wanted to vomit.
Next, there was a loud bang and a flash of brilliant light. They had performed the operation. Whitley sobbed and started screaming, sliding down into a cradle of tiny arms.

With the Treaty, aliens were officially allowed to abduct whomever they chose. Whenever. Worst of all, they were allowed to. And the results and evidence are never anything but terrifying.
For the skeptics left, I ask: of all the galaxies in the universe, of all the planets and systems, are we really the only life that exists?
