In 1998, I was driving from San Francisco to Los Angeles to record the first version of How to Live the James Bond Lifestyle. Suddenly I got scared, thinking people would laugh at me and say, "Who does this jerk think he is, telling me how to be James Bond?" 

I began to seriously think about calling the studio and canceling my recording. But then by chance, the audio-book I was listening to in the car about Elvis Presley's life, came to the part where Elvis was preparing for his 1969 TV special. 

Elvis was terrified to appear in front of millions of people after being away from live performing for ten years. He told the director that he changed his mind and wanted to cancel the show. But finally, Elvis overcame his fear and went out in front of a live audience that would be televised to millions of viewers. 

Hell, I thought, If Elvis could do that, who am I to be scared of recording in front of one engineer in the studio? And so what about putting it on Amazon? Elvis was risking getting laughed at by millions. So what if a couple of guys laughed me?

The results for Elvis: It's not referred to as The Comeback Special for nothing. The results for me: Some guys DID laugh when they heard the title of my book and seminar. They'd say things like: "Is this about chasing women, drinking and killing people?" Then I'd have to explain what the essence of the course was.

Now, years later, I'm constantly getting emails from men saying: "Your book saved my marriage." "Your book saved me during my divorce." "Your book made me fight a disease after I gave up." "Your seminar made me realize my dreams are possible."

My favorite message was from a woman that I didn't know at all: "I just want to thank you because your book saved my 30 year old son from going down the wrong path."

The expression; the James Bond Lifestyle, that I coined, is now used in advertisements when a rich lifestyle is talked about.

All of that occurred because I happened to hear the right part of Elvis Presley's biography audio-book on my drive to the recording studio. Coincidence? Or the Universal Energy talking to me?

 So, when business gets scary or fear is holding you back from a goal you want to accomplish, ask yourself; "What would James Bond do?" And the right answer will come back: He would call up his talent at will and deliver on a deadline, like he did in Ft. Knox.

You can also remember what Elvis' father told him when Elvis spent three dollars recording his first song at Sun Records: "I never knew a guitar player that was worth a damn."

When told by the manager of The Grand Ole Opry when Elvis auditioned for it; "Son, you'd better go back to driving a truck," Elvis cried on the drive home. 

A year later, Elvis headlined The Grand Ole Opry and the manager told him, "I always knew you'd be a success."

Elvis thanked him and then told his band, "That son-of-a-bitch doesn't remember when he broke my heart."

When someone tries to talk you out of your dreams, you might think: "If you're lookin' for trouble, you came to the right place."
