Above video is a comedy routine between Elvis and Berle. At that time, no one but Elvis knew about his identical twin brother who died at birth. It was probobly tough for Elvis to do the routine.
Comedian Milton Berle’s 1950’s TV show was so popular that restaurants and other businesses shut down for the night because no one came.
Milton Berle said:
“I got a call from Col. Tom Parker asking me to audition some new kid singer named Elvis Presley. I never heard of him because this was before the Sullivan show, but I said okay. His audition was wild with him singing and wiggling. But he was a handsome kid with a unique sound, so I booked him. And I have to say, he was one of the nicest, young men I ever met.
“It was April 1956 when Elvis came on the show. He handed our band leader one sheet of music. ‘Where’s the orchestration?’ the leader asked. 'This is it,' said Elvis. 'I play the guitar and have three backup musicians.’
“Elvis went on live and sang ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll’, ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ and ‘Blue Suede Shoes’. The kids in the audience went wild when Elvis started dancing around.
“The next day, the adults and the press were appalled. That week I got over 400,000 pan letters. Not fan letters, pan letters saying, ‘We will never watch your show again for having on that disgraceful singer shaking his butt.’
“I called Col. Tom and said, ‘I received 400,000 pan letters on your boy. You’ve got a star on your hands.”

Bonus Milton Berle Story: By the time Milton Berle was 16, he had worked his way up to Master of Ceremonies in Vaudeville. His mother was a frustrated actress who lived vicariously through her son's career and was its driving force. She made sure that no girl got in the way of Milton's dedication to his career.
Lucille Ball said, "Milton and I dated a few times, but it came to an abrupt stop because of his meddlesome mother."
Berle said: "I never told this story before, but my mother would get girls for me during my Vaudeville shows. She didn't want me to be distracted from my career with a serious relationship, so she would work her way around the audience and ask girls, 'What do you think about that comic on the stage?'
If the girl said something like, 'Oh, he's the greatest', then my mother would pass her by and go to another girl. When she found a girl that said something like, 'Oh, he's okay', then my mother would say, 'Would you like to meet him?'
