Seeing with New Eyes

Have you ever looked upon your life with new eyes? By this I mean looking at your life with eyes outside of your usual habitual patterns and seeing what other’s see. It is like using polarizing lenses in your eyeglasses. Using them allows you to see light differently than normal. You see much clearer and the stray rays that can cause your focus to blur disappear. You see with an entirely new set of eyes.

The same thing is true when you look at your life with new eyes. What was ordinary becomes clear and extra-ordinary. What was common becomes uncommon. What was a path becomes your path and the way to accomplish your destiny. So many people search in so many directions for the truth of their life. They search out one ‘master’ after another. They wander trying to find a place where they can become ‘enlightened’, ‘transformed’, and ‘awakened’. They try so hard to see their life with new eyes.

Becoming lost in this struggle is the age old dilemma of mankind. We think that we exist for what is outside of ourselves but feel the pain of forgetting what lies within us. Our eyes are focused on the wrong subject and we become tunnel focused on what is wrong with our life instead of seeing the good that we are.

It is by seeing with new eyes that you discover who you truly are. With new eyes you can see clearly the direction of your life and become a witness to the wonder of its beauty. You can look in a mirror and see a gift from God and know that what you see is a miracle; an incredible miracle. You can know that within that miracle lie all the wonder, knowledge, and joy you need to live a fulfilled and bountiful life.
