Though considered "Right-wing" by contemporary Socialists, Libertarians are not, by today's standards "conservative."

To most contemporary liberals or Leftists, Libertarians are considered “Right-wing,” so I’d come to accept that moniker until recent events have made it all too clear why I’m not at all a “conservative,” at least by contemporary standards.

All of this only proves that when it comes to common sense, conservatives have an ounce and not an iota more, while today’s liberals have none.

Today both Liberals and Conservatives favor big government. So called “Conservatives” want a Guiliani styled “Law & Order,” form of big government they like to call “good government,” while Leftists want a “Mommy State” or a social-welfare styled big government that “leaves no one behind.” Both are not only wrong, but run counter to every Constitutional principle on which this country was founded.

Human nature is barely tolerable when it’s confined between individuals, when both parties are held accountable for their actions, but in groups that same human nature becomes monstrous.

The group or crowd is nameless, faceless and unaccountable. Police Departments construct their “Blue Walls of Silence,” the Catholic Church protects pedophile priests at the expense of the children they betray and damage, Medical Boards protect errant, often incompetent doctors, Law Review Panels shield legal misconduct and government bureaucrats take delight in bringing down the highest achievers – a perverse triumph of the impotent over the producers. “If you can’t compete with them, then beat them down with the club of government.”

Liberals endorse a social fascism that usurps individual rights in favor of the misguided concept of “group rights.” The sinister effects of this philosophy can be seen on the snarling visages of the victimization/retribution crowd. Jesse Jackson’s coercing Corporate donations in the name of “diversity,” Charles Barron’s vile anti-white bigotry that assails Jefferson as “both a rapist and a pedophile," Al Sharpton’s calling Jewish store owners in Harlem, “white interlopers” and Dick Gephart’s using his Mom as a fixed income check kiter to defend the current indefensible social security system, are all examples of the fascist Left’s assault on individualism and personal responsibility.

Taken together, these petty fascisms from both sides, comprise, without a doubt, the best arguments in favor of individualism over both group rights and “good government.”

The cavernous gulf that exists between Libertarians and mislabeled “Liberals” has always been made clear through the Left’s assault on “Social Darwinism.” Recently talk radio has done a lot to define the great moral gulf between virtuous Libertarians and so many sniveling, snarling conservatives.

Many of these so called “conservatives” gleefully support “law & order” fascists like John Ashcroft, Tom Ridge and Rudy Guiliani who advocate “protecting our freedoms by restricting them.” Talk Show hosts like Curtis Sliwa positively gloat over inane laws like Minnesota’s recent attempt to ban “cursing in public.” A law that was recently and thankfully struck down by a court that apparently had at least a grudging respect for the First Amendment.

If you’re a contemporary “law & order” conservative, you are indeed heartless and if you’re a contemporary liberal, you’re indeed brainless.

There’s only one path for those with both a beating heart and a functioning brain – the individualism and economic liberty espoused by this nation’s founders.
