Congress as our role model...

Well, here we go. Another non-binding vote by our senators asking the President to declare Iran's Revolutionary Guard a foreign terrorist organization.

Do our senators have nothing better to do than make us the laughingstock of the world?

Consider the accomplishments of this Democratic majority in Congress. A host of non-binding resolutions, but not one concrete thing done for us, their constituents, the American People.

After the Supreme Court ruled unconstitutional a 96-year-old antitrust law that made collusion and price-fixing a crime, did this Congress do anything to give us new protection against the oil companies and the like? Noooooo. Instead they turned a blind eye.

Non-binding resolutions are safer, aren't they? No risk of angering the big businesses our senators and representatives truly work for there.

Where do these senators get off thinking their opinion means anything outside of Capitol Hill anyway? And why stir up more trouble for us in the world? How dumb is that? Not that I don't think Iran may be a problem in the future. But I'm damn sure smart enough not to open my mouth and declare my intentions before there's any real threat. This is like pulling a gun, shaking it at the would-be intruder and saying, "I'll shoot, I will." And this is precisely the reason so many people end up shot by their own guns. Duh.

I don't know why any country in the world is worried about us anyway. With a do-nothing Congress concerned only with how much time they can waste on our dime and still look busy, we're shooting ourselves in the foot while the world, and especially our enemies, celebrate.

So, who wants my vote? Surely not the Democrats who've had a majority in Congress and failed to do one damn thing to help and/or protect their countrymen.

Why don't they all, every senator and representative, just go home instead? They'll still collect their exorbitant salaries that I and my countrymen are over-taxed to pay. If only they would just shut up at least, the world wouldn't be constantly reminded via the monthly non-binding resolution that a bunch of weak, pompous, self-serving fools are fighting over the helm of our ship. If I were our enemy, I'd be highly encouraged.

'Tis a sad--and dangerous--time to be a real American.
