The email sent this very morning to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi...

The following is the email I sent to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi this very morning that began Dear Ms. Pelosi:

Please tell me what another nonbinding resolution, this latest one angering our allies the Turks, is going to do for the American People?

You are not only deplorable, but wholly irresponsible for wasting your employer's time like this. Did you and Congress forget who you work for? The history of the Armenian genocide in World War I will not change, whether you and Congress pass this resolution or not. To me, this is merely a cover for doing absolutely nothing to enhance my quality of life as an American and a single mother.

We could debate the fine points of what you think you've done for America, as I noted on your home page, but it would get us nowhere. I don't agree that you or your cohorts have done much for the average American, especially under that section entitled "accountability in Washington."

What I'd truly like to know is where you and the rest of Congress get off thinking you're all that. That your nonbinding resolutions mean anything to anyone outside of Capitol Hill.

Why make our soldiers lives more dangerous than they already are with a nonbinding resolution that benefits no one in America? Personally, I think you're no different than a majority of the representatives and senators haunting the hallowed halls in that you're a needy person hunting a few headlines because you haven't seen your name in the paper for a day or two, but at whose expense do you do this?

I wish the job of US Representative and Senator wasn't so attractive to people like you, most of whom are one step above a car salesman with an equivalent depth of character. If I and a majority of the People had our way, we'd fire the whole lot of you--Democrat and Republican alike--and just start over again, this time with an amendment to the Constitution that forbids representatives and senators from raising their own pay and increasing their perks, unless approved by a two-thirds majority of the nation in a binding national referendum.

If all of you, representatives and senators alike, don't sacrifice your need for headlines and quit catering to self-serving interests of the business lobbies you work for, you'll take us into another World War. And you might not like the uprising you'll face at home either. After all, if we the People that Congress so obviously considers morons decide to follow the example of our Forefathers, you'd all best sail for England. We are the sons and daughters of revolution, after all. And in my opinion, you and your Democratic majority have done nothing to help me and people like me stuck paying your way, your travel, and your exorbitant salaries and pensions.

If you and the rest of Congress truly want to do something for the American People, why not take a substantial pay cut and apply it to the budget? Sorry, but where I come from, the sticks, the hinterlands, we Americans aren't allowed to pass nonbinding resolutions at our place of employment in lieu of the real work our employer hired us to do. If you're supposed to represent America, you're doing one sorry job of it. I am ashamed of all of you.

If you can't do something FOR America, shut up and go home. That way at least you'll do nothing to hurt America and its soldiers, not to mention its standing in the world, made more ridiculous by yet another nonbinding resolution that doesn't mean jack to anyone outside of your narrow social sphere.

Is there no one left in Washington that sees the big picture? Or are you just not listening to them?
