A short article about the state of America today written May 23, 2002 in collaboration with Eric Martin.

How is it possible that we have managed to survive as a nation for so long with little political upheaval? Our national belief system is that the government should serve the people and not vice versa. As our constitution dictates, voters have chosen leaders to represent their views. As views change due to events and incidents like war, health epidemics and new discoveries, so does the voting pattern. Our political parties alter their public beliefs to meet the voter’s last election profile. We will continue to survive so long as the voting process alters the political parties direction of action.
