There are border towns and there are border towns. Crossing between, say, Calexico, California, and Mexicali, Mexico, may be increasingly difficult, what with heightened security, international drug trafficking, and concern over illegal aliens.
But to go between Delmar, Maryland, and Delmar, Delaware, you need only cross State Street, also known as Route 54. This is the self-styled "Little Town Too Big for One State."
Or one mayor, for that matter.
Delmar has two, John F. Outton Sr. from Delaware and Pal (Doug) Niblett from Maryland. You'd think they're an old married couple, the way they finish each other's sentences....
