This legislation was reinstroduced in Congress as H.R. 503 and S. 311 to end horse slaughter for human consumption and to prevent the animals export for that purpose.
That’s right the government is allowing it, because these wild horses they slaughter are then being sold for meat to places like China, etc. Once again a profit if being made at cost to the animals and in this case the species who once roamed free where now cattlemen want to graze their animals.

Far too many American citizens are truly apathetic today. Our veterans once had to chain themselves to the White House fence to get some help. Some say, we may have to do the very same concerning our 'once public' land. Now, our leaders are letting our wild horses, buffalo, wolves, bears, sea lions, and even birds to be slaughtered, for powerful, cash-bearing, special interest groups and lobbyists.
Even our once revered National Park System is being torn apart, bit by greedy bit, and most us simply don't care.
The last eight years has been the worst environmental leadership in our nation's history, just when we needed the very best.
