President Obama graciously accepted the Nobel Peace Prize, announcing to the world that we must make war before we can have peace.

I am conflicted about President Obama's decision to send 30,000 more Americans to wage war in Afghanistan. While it is obvious that he wants to protect us, I'm just not sure that pouring more troops and money into a corrupt country is the way.

Since there is no draft, most Americans do not feel the pain of multiple deployments, separation from families, deaths of loved ones. We recognize the necessity of self defense, but ponder the morality of preemptive strikes.

Many Americans joined the service after 911, even Pat Tillman, the famous football player. The same general who covered up Pat's friendly fire death is now the top general in Afghanistan.

I applaud the President's decision to end the unjust war in Iraq and axioulsy await July 2011 when we will leave Afghanistan.

As an average citizen with no military training, I might be stupid as stone, but I pray every day for peace.
