It's a good day when you read a memoir of another person's life, and laugh most of the way through the book!
The thought of a memoir to me is a stuffy telling of one's life.
Not so with Memoirs of a Welshman.
Lyn Clarke is the type of person you'd like to meet - indeed, when you are reading this book, you feel he is talking to you of all the adventures he has had, all the things he has accomplished.
He was deeply involved in rugby and soccer both in the UK and the States.
He was successful in business, and took care of his family to be able to retire to a wonderfully perfect place.
Clarke has had the opportunity to see top musicians (including the Beatles), top athletes in every sport (my favorite story is about his encounter with Pete Rose)...
Well, it is a fun read. Clarke has written a second book about his life,
Ramblings of a Welshman - also published by Triad - I look forward to reading that one too.
