Book review of The Memory Keeper A Book of Friendship for Women written and illustrated by Susan E. Hartrick, ISBN 10:0-9815045-4-x, Triad Publishing Group, review by ellen george
In this book, we meet Leona - she is our narrator. But she is not human. She is a dog who was rescued by three ladies, and by that act of kindness, starts a bond, friendship and love.
The three ladies take Leona on all sorts of adventures. Some were ones I'd hesitate to do, but this brave pup went with his three friends!
This story tells not only of our love for our pets, but gives a peek what our furry friends may be thinking about us.
It is a charming book and Ms. Hartrick's illustrations are perfect.
Even the ending is uplifting - I feel this way that one day I will meet all my 'memory keepers' -
Even though this book will probably be aimed for children, it is a charming sweet read for everyone, and that includes you gents out there!
