No Rest for the Wiccan is the fourth of the Bewitching Mystery Series by Madelyn Alt. It is a delightful series featuring a young lady, Maggie O'Niell, living in Stoney Mill, Indiana. Maggie gets a job at a wonderful store called Enchantments. It is one of those cool shops that have one of a kind items, teas, coffees, and trendy things. Enchantments is run by Liss Dow. Charming is a great description for Liss and Enchantments - Liss is a practicing witch and she and others meet in the store's attic.
Maggie opens herself to her intuition and finds she in an empath. Rather than judge her friends, she sees the reality these people are hardworking folks who worship and revere the earth, not evil stereotypes.
Liss also helps Maggie in her metaphysical education. There is also a gorgeous man in the 'coven', Marcus Quinn, who is attracted to Maggie.
Maggie's on/off again cop boyfriend is not amused by all this witchy business.
Maggie, Liss and friends delve into metaphysical mysteries in the town. This time, Maggie's very pregnant sister is on bedrest, and she and her friends get in trouble playing with a Ouija Board. Yikes!!! Boy is that a NONO for ANYONE!
Add a bonified mystery to the mix, and you get one snappy and delightful book. With all the activity of the witches, their flying under the radar fades away, and more folks are aware there are witches in their fair town. One hopes this doesn't get into the Southern Vampire Series version of this problem, where it overshadows the plot sometimes.
Madelyn Alt writes with beauty, not just describing a person or situation, but paints a picture bringing you into the actions and feelings. Wiccan is the strongest of the series and is a wonderful read.
