Watching TV and got frustrated.

My bologna has a first name, Lucky Charms, They’re magically delicious, I’d like to teach the world to sing, and of course, Where’s the Beef? These are commercials from my childhood or young adulthood that I remember well. They had catchy jingles back then. But what do we have now? Medicines no one can pronounce? In ten years from now, are we going to be reminiscing about Ozempique? I doubt it. You see all these memes on Facebook. What are we going to remember ten or 20 years from now? Okay, I get it, a lot of us are getting on in years and might need some of these strange medicines. But now their medicines have music that was done in the 1970s. For example, Ozempique, I can’t spell that, but you know what I mean. The music is to It’s Magic, done by Pilot in 1974. Then there’s Rybellsious, You are my sunshine, and then there’s All right Now which was done by the band Free. Okay, I get it. If you’re watching TV with these, you’re probably in your 60s like I am, and the 1970s was a great decade for music.
I guess I really shouldn’t complain. I would much rather listen to 70s music than today’s garbage. I know I probably sound like my mother.
Another pet peeve with today’s ads is all the Medicare ads. That’s bad enough, but now they have folks like Jimmy Walker, Joe Namath and Dan Marino. I grew up with J.J watching Good Times. And I remember Joe doing panty hose commercial. And I can still remember when Dan was with the Miami Dolphins. Yes, Joe was a football player too, but he played a little before my time. Yes, I ‘m old enough for Medicare. But I will call NO ONE. I don’t turn my cell phone on except for twice a week, because all I get is Medicare scams.
Can we go back to a simpler time when ads were fewer, and had catchy jingles? Who will ever forget the New Seekers standing on a hillside talking about teaching the world to sing while drinking a coke? Yes, those were the days.
