In having strong opinion(s) supported by histories educated knowledge of the past, and personal beliefs I feel we all can have understanding of a need & therefore be able to comprehend the difference of a want, but also having the ability to know what is logically & politically achievable and that unfortunately isn't the same as possibilities potential.
Very advanced vocabulary here, used in an effective manner. You managed to tackle the subject without the preachiness or guilt that can come with it. This reflects the enmity you speak of very well.

war is something that mankind will always have-some will say bring the troops home but sooner or later even the very safety of our homeland could be threatened by people who care only about shoving their " ism " on nations and making them all speak like Borgs(Star Trek)-if we don't fight evil in the world today then evil will only grow. I wonder what the world would be like if Hitler was never stopped? Excellent thought provoking on your part
Coming with the announcement that my own country has committed our troops up to 2011 I feel this write stronger than ever. My father was a foot soldier in WW II and I am proud of him just as I am proud of the boys and girls (which is what most of them really still are) who are being sent to fight for their flags in a war, that like Vietnam will eventually be abadoned when politicians have gotten what they wanted out of their secret agendas.
