Chimera …

Recombinant mythical power of woman;

A lion’s head on a goat’s body;

with the serpent tails of sin…

Discrepant me not

with these incompatibilities…

for unrecognized in my dreams

I can know where I have been.

Your breath of fire is the absurd monster of myth,

as you slay your righteous wrath

new Chimera of my devoured fright.

Like a broth of heathens compiled in the deviance;

An illusion grafts in the recess of my mind…

Just beyond the devoided margins of night…

CHIMERA!! LOL Cool idea to focus on a not often used word like that. When one does this, or uses middle english, it often sounds like it's being used in a pretentious way, but it is done well here.

I like "Your breath of fire is the absurd monster of myth,

as you slay your righteous wrath

new Chimera of my devoured fright."

Very evocative. You are good with gothic poetry, too. I would like to see more of that!

Your photo reminds me of my families armorial coat of arms, with Griffins three. As for you and Chimera, I think most definitely, not. Loving emotion beeming 'neath a Cherubic smile is what I envision from you, your poetic works. Sometimes your work is ever so lightly, tastefully laced with Poe essence. One of my favorites.
