Cerement’s Heart

Purling emery scraping at the scathing sight of distrust;

Walking like an immortal statue claiming honor’s thrust…

Starving like a toxin of rancid beast hunting for prey;

Screaming into empty gallows with nothing left to say…

Creeping ever so slowly into the stone covers of disbelief;

traducing presence from the sinister possession of grief…

Phantoms ill trespasses own the wrath corpse of barbed darkness;

While transgressions of torment are buried beneath the lies of distress…

Smoking the filled shroud of deception paved into the passage of greed;

planting inside cerement’s heart

are the lethal perils of venoms arrant seed…

mouldering alone inside haunting tombs of emotions

hidden deep inside;

the wretched masked vagrancy of deception can no longer seem to hide…

These Black and Blue Red Zone Days by Aberjhani

Just as life during the pandemic was color-coded with different hues representing different levels of danger, life in its aftermath has become shaded in similar ways. As a self-styled “Seeker of Beauty with Beauty,” (borrowing from a quote by W.E.B.
