Griotectonics: the art and science of catastrophic paradigm shift, through the medium of words and images.

 


Griotectonics is a way of looking at the world. Griotectonics is a way of dealing with the people you meet in the world on a level that forces confrontation. As an avenue of change, Griotectonics employs the art of storytelling using disparate forms - i.e. poetry, prose, graphic imagery - of communication for the purpose of catastrophic paradigm shift. In lieu of conscious and willing mental upliftment, the insertion of ideas that challenge metanarrational streams of thought within the minds of those reading griotectic works can be seen as an unconscious choice to undergo fundamental ideological transformation.

As such, Griotectonics is an agent of change and of revelation. In these revolutionary times, wars are fought in the mind as well as on the battlefield. But, there is no new thing under the Sun. Thusly, the invocation of the ancient Griot tradition - melded with the catstrophic change implied by gaian-oriented tectonic forces - may be seen as a return to the oral tradition of our shared ancestors, who told stories by moon and firelight in order to keep themselves whole, physically and spiritually.
