This article was intended to spur on those who participated in the elections of 11/09/10, which was an important first step in restoring certain American liberties to the People.

It is November 9, 2010; one week after a historic election. We have bathed in the afterglow for the past 7 days. Now it’s time to ratchet up our efforts. In our work to restore America to the principles and truths on which she was founded, please consider the following:

I recently read, “It is sometimes not enough to help those crushed by the evil actions of a state; at some point the church must directly take action against the state to stop it from perpetrating evil” (Eric Metaxas).

Another said this about Protestant pastors, “You can do anything you want with them. They will submit...they are insignificant little people, submissive as dogs, and they sweat with embarrassment when you talk to them” (Adolf Hitler). The arrogance of an elitist! Sound familiar?

Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a German pastor and martyr who stood against Hitler, wrote, “Silence in the face of evil is evil itself. God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak, is to speak. Not to act, is to act”.

Will our generation of American Christians melt away when challenged by the fires of persecution? Will we be “submissive as dogs” and allow godless politicians who cling to a measure of power, cunningly define the role of church in society or force conformity to their agenda for America and her people?

It says in Proverbs 26:11, “As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools repeat their folly”.

The time to speak, to act, is always NOW. The results of November 2nd were the first-fruits produced by Americans who have decided to not remain insignificant, to not repeat the errors of the past, and to not relive the consequences of idleness and inaction.

I’m not a pessimist, I’m a realist. Times will get far worse before they get better. Let us resolve to not faint in the face of adversity. We need each other. We are a force because of our unity. In the days ahead, let’s work harder than ever to deny those that would seek to deny Americans their God-given liberty and freedom.
