Stan I.S. Law's poem "Autumn Grass" (here on authorsden)reminded me of this picture I took last week north of Los Angeles.
There is beauty right in front of us every day if we open our eyes. Everything is dry and dusty, the wind has been howling, and still, the leaves cling to the oak tree. The sky is swept clean and clear, but the grass is dry, and in California, dangerous fodder for fires.
