I have placed 4 of my novels on the website ACX where authors and narrators come together to produce an audio version of a book. The proceeds are divided 50/50 between author and narrator.
Right now, I need one male narrator, three female narrators. One of the females must be able to change voice enough to be clearly a daughter (late 20s) and a mother (50ish).
Even if my works don't suit your talents, lots of AuthorsDen members could make some extra cash with their beautiful reading voices.
I would love to narrate my own books, but my voice is very high, not right for the project.
The more I read about ACX, which does have a big advantage in distribution, the more prone I am to skip it. I have way too much to handle as it is. The web site goes into great detail about what to do about pauses, but if you're not a pro, it's very techy. Thanks, Ron

While my voice is quite good, my love power is such that I cannot read very far without taking a breath and that causes my reading to be quite filled with pauses. As far as getting others to read my book for me, it sounds to me to be very expensive. However, the thought of 50/50 sharing of the royalties makes it more readily possible.
