Inauguration? No, that was no inauguration; that was a Coronation.We think we have elected the forty-fourth President of the United States, and that is what we will call him, but I fear we have actually crowned America’s very first King.It was inevitable that this would happen to any Afro-American or, for that matter, any woman upon election to the Presidency.It is human nature. But have we sold our souls, pledged our hearts and our minds to a newfound Messiah?Are we so crazed with joy and elation to even think of this question, much less ask it?
It is a great thing to have elected our very first Afro-American President, but we really should come down to earth a little before we find ourselves in danger – danger that I believe we are already in.We are working ourselves to such frenzy from which there will be no possible turning. At this time in history, we must be cautious – but we won’t. We must be wary – but we won’t.We must be disciplined – but, of course, we won’t.We will continue to run madly about, raising our arms, our banners and our voices in praise and exaltation.We will continue to celebrate until we whip ourselves into such frenzy that we will look like fools if this, our new Messiah, is not all that we expect him to be.
So, we who don’t like to look like fools, will continue to praise him even if he leads us astray.Nothing he will do will be wrong, even if it is wrong.He will say, “This is how it should be” (if not ‘will’ be) and all will agree, even if they don’t agree.Any error he makes will be shrouded and called ‘good’ by his adoring press - the press that he owns and that owns him.Anyone who dissents will be called a racist at best, a traitor at worse.
Could I be wrong?Yes, of course.I truly hope I am – but I wonder and I worry and I see danger, a danger that others must also see, but will not say so - yet.Is it too early?Most will say so.But when will it be the right time, when it is too late?I think it already is.
I am hardly underestimating the wisdom of a people who voted for a man because of his color, a people who didn’t care about his background and his ties with people who openly hate this country. This is a man who won’t even produce a valid birth certificate and the “people” just don’t care. If a Republican had any of this in his background, the story would have been quite a different one. If a Republican, for example, would ever admit to having used cocaine, the press would destroy him and the people would never elect him – but it’s different for Barack Obama. It was different with Bill Clinton as well, because the press loved him and told only the good until they had to tell the bad – but even then, they fell all over themselves (for the most part) covering and excusing away all his “snafus”. No, I’m afraid I did indeed overestimated the American people before the campaign. Now, I’m afraid I see the truth, the truth that I don’t think your bias will allow you to see yet. But, hey, let’s both hope I’m wrong and you’re right. I’ve been wrong before; I suppose there is an outside chance it could happen again - LOL.
How can you say that I give the press too much credence? Were you sleeping through the campaign? The mainstream press (CNN, MSNBC,CBS, ABC, NBC and all the major print media along with the “Hollywood Crowd” including Saturday Night Live - all except FOX News and Talk Radio) actively, openly and quite unashamedly campaigned for Obama, and did everything in their power to win for him the Presidency. They have far too much invested in this man to ever admit that they were wrong. That isn’t something the Press knows how to admit to. Also, the electorate will not vote him out. They won’t for at least three reasons. 1) The electorate, like the press, doesn’t like to admit mistakes. 2) They would have to admit that our first black President failed – they will see that as “bad for the country”, a place where we the people have failed, not him. 3) Because they very well may not know of any shortcomings because the Press will either not report it. Or when the absolutely must report it, because conservative news outlets like the ones before mentioned, force them too, they will do as they did with Clinton. They will attack the messenger or cry “They do it too” in that agenizing whine of theirs. They will explain it all away and do pretty much what I said in my article.
Destroy his reputation? Can you explain how that is done please? If his reputation has not been destroyed by what we already know about him, and it evidently is not (yours and mine would be – but not his), then how is it even possible to ever do that? He is and will continue to be another Bill Clinton – made of Teflon. Again, I cut and paste what I said above here now:

I believe you are underestimating the strength and wisdom of the American people, Mr. Kogel. And the power, separation, and independence ... of our three branches of government.
Also, you give our beloved press, too much credence. Based upon history, they will promptly tear asunder, any monument, man, or thing, that they put on a pedestal. I can not prognosticate any of your concerns. However, because of our constitution, I do know the American electorate will vote him out as surely as they voted him in ... should your dire predictions become reality.
Let's give him a fair chance to succeed, before we start destroying his reputation and credibility. He has my support (at this time) not because I favor the individual, but because I love America and wish it to remain viable throughout the twenty-first century.
