I want you to know that I have published The Decline of Capitalism: The Upcoming Post-Capitalistic Society. The major premise is that capitalism will die and there will be a post-capitalistic society within the next 20-30 years.
Here are two reasons capitalism will fail:
1. It continually outsources jobs; it replaces workers with technology and it drives masses of workers from the middle class. It’s really common sense. When the working poor can hardly afford the next meal or a place to stay, who is able to buy washing machines, cars or TVs?
2. Capitalism by its very structure demands an impoverished population. Somebody has to clean the toilets. And it’s not going to be the one percent. Even these jobs may be obsolete soon. I recently read that Wal-Mart is experimenting with robots to do the cleaning. Amazon is experimenting with drone delivery.
If capitalism fails, what will replace it? “Nature abhors a vacuum” and something will replace capitalism. There are those who will promote a fascist state, a plutocracy, or a corporate state. Or a hybrid of these. They will try to deceive everyone into believing there is no other choice. They will play on fears of terrorism, chaos and social breakdown.
If this is true , we need to take preventive action now to keep this from happening. We must decide what replaces capitalism. We need to offer alternatives to those who will want to impose fascism on us.
In order to offer alternatives, we must have alternative ideas and plans. There are several alternatives I have described in my book as well.
Ideas have consequences. Ideas play themselves out in historical events, global upheavals and massive change. It was an idea that created 9-11. It was an idea that created the Russian Revolution of 1917. It was an idea that created the American Revolution. Ideas such as “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, it is ideas that will protect us from the evils of a fascist state.

What does have to happen is that the way that some forces are trying to remove restraints from capitalism that were put in place over 100 years ago need to be stopped, and in many cases, completely reversed. We can no longer tolerate people dying in the streets no more than we can tolerate people starving or killed by collateral damage in endless wars over power. Capitalists are in the game to see who makes the most money. They have to be defeated or they will drive everyone else into poverty and unemployment. The whole idea of work, in an article that I wrote here, needs to change.
I wish you good luck with this book. I don't know if you have the credentials for it to become believed by the intellectual/economic elite. But if you reach the disenchanted middle-class, that will be enough.
