I recently read that a group known as Open Doors USA wants the U.S. government to protest the persecution and mistreatment of Christians around the world. Especially in places like China, India and North Korea. This organization produces an annual report on religious persecution around the world. 

Unfortunately, Open Doors is barking up the wrong tree. How in God’s name can anyone expect a president like Trump to have any credibility with foreign countries? Trump has zero influence overseas. This is for many reasons. His name-calling, his tariffs, his insults to other cultures. These are a few of the many reasons that why foreigners and their governments would not give trump the time of day.

If Evangelicals and trump-supporting Christians want to stop religious persecution in other countries, they might do better by ending their support of Trump. Then other countries might at least begin rethinking their policies of persecuting Christians. Meanwhile Open Doors, dream on!
