That is certainly a harsh indictment. Since the Coronavirus has been determined to be an "act of God," and not of men, it may be too harsh to blame the elected leader of our country for his inept attempts at both calming fears and acting aggressively to meet the threat of the virus, knowing that it was coming well before the public did.

He certainly has been confused, and is guilty of firing the very people who could help him, as well as ignoring educated experts in favor of his friends when it comes to the direction and possible solutions to the threat. Dangerously so.

You are right to blame those complacent with his contradictory fumbling that does not look at all like the requirement of leadership that a president should possess. He is currently scurrying about boiling in his own stew.

And, there are those who are apolitical, young and foolhardy, who think they will live forever or don't even care about dying, who are making a mockery of the only proven way to avoid infection--social distancing. Trump would like to be of that crowd when he mingled freely with his popular support and doesn't wear a mask because he wants everyone to see his pretty face when he talks. Similar to when FDR never allowed photographs or movies of his wheelchair or his crutches broadcast so that he wouldn't lose this popular support--smiling broadly through his pain.
