In this book, you will find a collection of recipes that have been discovered during my travels around the globe. Finding easy to make, delicious recipes are hard to find. I find that my tastes can be unique and I love making food from scratch. Occasionally making food items from a box can be ok to save time but nothing tastes better than fresh, from scratch dishes. I am sure there are many of you out there that feel the same and would love to find and make distinctive, exotic, and delicious recipes.
"Living in Europe, it has been difficult to live without bread and I found the pounds drifting back on again to my dismay. Breads, sweets, and pastries just to name a few are daily life here and it is impossible to get away with not tasting that last piece of chocolate! Both my husband and I made a decision like so many on New Years Eve to lose the pounds and start exercising again. We had on several occasions tried the low carb diets but failed by using the dreaded “just this one time will be o.k.” statement when it came to eating chocolate or bread. The diet backfired and we ended up gaining more weight. We decided to go on the low calorie diet with yogurt, fish, and poultry but it wasn’t just working. My husband and I were hungry all the time. We decided that this time things were going to be different. We were going to stick to the diet completely (and this meant missing out on New Year’s dinner at our favourite local restaurant) and I was determined to find recipes that fit our diet. Trying to shop for low carb and sugarless daily necessities were very difficult. All the spaghetti jars I checked had sugar, the ketchup, and mayonnaise also. Actually, I did find ONE jar of mayonnaise that didn’t have any sugar but it was so expensive I was forced to buy it every time I wanted to make tuna salad or any other recipe that required it. Well, I started to scour the net and experiment in the kitchen for some solutions. In the end it all worked well. My husband and I had homemade ketchup, mayo, and spaghetti sauce as well as peanut butter. It was fresh and more delicious than anything else you would buy in the store. The only draw back was that it would not keep fresh as long as the items in the store but not having any preservatives or conservatives is not bad in my book. Anything I didn’t use for awhile I would just freeze. On the average, the items would be fresh for up to 4 weeks.
Be careful of the various carb counters on the market. Many vary by a few grams of carbs but when using enough of this ingredient, it can make or break your diet."
