Post Apocalyptic friends head west for survival and the perfect twinkie.

Something wicked this way walks.Have you ever seen a gory, funny, endearing, romantic zombie movie? If you were to add a few "Jackass" style gags (the second floor piano is good) and a star cameo midway, that would sum up Zombieland. Mostly it's just wicked fun. The secret ingredient is a sensitive theme running throughout. There is virtually no plot;the action scenes are mostly launched by Tallahassee's (Harrelson) eternal quest for the last intact Twinkie. Just looking at Harrelson here makes me laugh. The writers chose to develop and focus on the chemistry between the four lead characters.They possess an inherent appeal as the main survivors in a post-apocalyptic world, populated by the walking dead. One of the best sequences occurs at an amusement park. The juxtaposition of colorful stuffed animals,pulse-racing thrill rides and legions of the undead,all converging upon a gaudily lit playland is visually and wildly amusing. Bloody funny and surprisingly romantic with one of the best surprise cameos I've seen in years. 5stars. 10.02.09
