Cormoran Strike is back, along with his sidekick secretary, Robin Ellacott, a British gumshoe team, soon to be as celebrated as Nick and Nora Charles, of my favorite " Thin Man" series. This is a fast paced entertaining novel. We discover Strike is the illegitimate son of a rock star, whose siblings grew up rich and privileged. I found this story as cleverly plotted as its predecessor, with Galbraith littering the twisted plot with red herrings and clues right up to the page turning climax that will appeal to Hitchcock and Agatha Christie fans. Strike and Robin, will grow on you, and you will find yourself compulsively reading this twisted murder plot, trying to figure out whodunit? Who silenced the author Owen Quine to prevent publication of his newly written manuscript? All the characters are richer and substantially darker than the first novel, and you have your choice of prime suspects among several backstabbing associates Quine wrote about. You are constantly misdirected, as if you are riding an enjoyable murderous roller coaster! You should enjoy the journey in this knockout series.
