A splendid work of art was unveiled by the Chicago Bears today at Soldier Field honoring one of the founders of the National Football League, George "Papa Bear" Halas.

This is a timeline statue that features two depictions of the Bears owner as well as that of Hall-of-Famers who have starred in The City of Big Shoulders over the years from first NFL star, Red Grange, to Bronko Nagurski, Sid Luckman and Bill George [who 'invented' the middle linebacker position] to Dick Butkus and Gale Sayers [the best two #1 draft picks ever chosen in the same year by any team] as well as Walter "Sweetness" Payton and Mike "Buddha" Singletary, both of whom played on the 1985 Super Bowl Champions.
The statue, itself, was created by the husband-and-wife team of Rotblatt and Amray who - among others - have been also responsible for the 16 foot high statue of Michael Jordan which sits outside The United Center in Downtown Chicago.
[This latest work of theirs is 26 feet high by 15 feet wide, by the way.]
