Excerpt of my upcoming book
PART 1: SURVIVAL OF THE HOLIEST: HOW MAN GAVE BIRTH TO GOD.
Through roads
Of lost dreams
And weary days
We dread to see,
We place our faith upon hands
We’ve never seen:
Dwell in teachings
And practices of the ancient
In the hopes of salvation.
A coping mechanism
Imprinted in us
By nature
Which could be summed up in a phrase:
SURVIVAL OF THE HOLIEST!
For we are no gods
But humans
So we lack a sense of being,
Corrupted by the illusion of free will
We find doing good not by default.
Shaken by daily mishaps,
We find no reason to live
Just to face a pending doom……DEATH!
But as fool look as clown
So fool must have looked the first man,
Who believed- In God.
For he must have searched
And looked at the wonders
In the skies
And searched for answers
As to whom it belonged to
For he too must have belonged
To the same creator of those wonders.
Believe he did
And henceforth found a reason,
A purpose to live.
And a subject of laugh he would have been
To his equal subjects.
But in midst of those laughs
He must have thrived with happiness,
As his laughers must have searched
For a reason, a purpose themselves.
And since the man of laugher
Thrived for he found a purpose,
His equal subjects whom sought for answers
And purpose also, must have followed
The man of laughter since he found
“It”
And now lives
In harmony and with a purpose.
His equal subjects who sought not
For answers thus lacked a purpose to live
Must have found early graves
For they found no reason to break bread with life’s mishaps.
So with no sense of being,
And unable to live life,
Their breed vanished
And remained
Were those who were fit to face life
For they had a purpose,
Hence the survival of the holiest.
Thus we are descendants
Of the man of laughter
And the holiest,
Forcing nature to imprint
In us, the coping mechanism
Which is needed to live a fulfilled life
Have a sense of being,
And a purpose:
A BELIEF SYSTEM!
With this new found belief
All mysteries of the man of laughter were solved,
For he needed no reason to question any longer.
He blamed all the unexplainable on God:
The sickness that killed was his anger
The rain the fell was reward for good,
And mishaps and unfortunate events
Were his trials,
In test for placement after this lifetime.
Finding the root
To the human explanations
To mysteries were of no use
And vice versa the man of laughter
And his followers
Forgot to think,
As they blamed all the unexplainable on God,
Doomed their children for these traits they passed.
They too looked not for answers,
They too did not think.
Thus was the story of how man gave birth to God.
