Recently I shared a poem in which I hinted at what our personal, National, and World-wide conflicts are REALLY about...more details here

Hello, how are you doing?
Me? The short answer is, I'm doing fine. It is well with my soul. The long answer is, well...
I remember Many years ago, sitting at a table in a restaurant in Nashville, Tennesee, silently contemplating my life. Kind of like the out-of-body-experience sort of bird's-eye-view when you ponder your own mortality...the dash between the year inscriptions on the tombstone. No, I don't think that is morbid. God says a number of places in His written Word that is actually quite healthy. To remember that we are limited is a good thing.
Anyways, I remember being initially attacked by a feeling of depression. Why? Because as I thought about my lunch on the plate in front of me, it became super clear to me, just how repetitive life is. You wake up. You get dressed. You prepare breakfast, you eat it, then you eat again at lunch or dinner, then again at supper and then you go to bed and repeat that the following day. One thousand- ninety-five meals in a year. Maybe, One Hundred and nine thousand and five hunded times if you manage to live to be One hundred years old!
Now, I know there is a lot of variety in those repetitions, but still it got me wondering, what's it all for? Unless you know the answer, such pondering can lead to a rapid descent into the deepest, darkest pit. I remember being on a flight headed for Atlanta Airport. Suddenly as we approached the landing strip, the plane lurched and dropped several feet in the air, as if was on a high-speed elevator going DOWN!!! The stewardess near my seat grabbed the head-rest and a look of pure terror showed on her face. Then she managed to tell us everything was alright. She had tried to hide her fear, but I saw it. Later I learned that we had experienced what they call a 'wind shear'. Powerful down-drafts that can pull a plane down suddenly. That's the way that contemplating life's repetitions without having true answers can pull us down quickly into depression. Many people hit these emotional/spiritual/mental down-drafts, and never recover.
And so I began seeking answers from the Lord, our Creator. This was the beginning of what became a nearly decade long journey of discovery. It's the main reason I began writing and sharing my poetry.
What exactly did I discover?
I discovered that the answer is best summed up in one verse of Scripture:
"...God is love." [ 1 John 4:8 ]
That is a massive summary, a monumental, nearly un-imagible summing up of God's nature. We have trivialized and watered down that word. Those of us who are writers or poets ( especially if we claim to be followers of Jesus Christ) have a most profound responsibility to truly understand that word in all of its fullness and brilliance and to use it with extreme care. If we fail to define 'love' as God means it to be understood, we make the greatest blunder that can be done in this Universe!
You see, "We have been made of nobler dust..."
A Human Being, has been purposely designed and created, by the Infinite Creator, to be a representative, a tiny reflection of the Living God who spoke this entire Cosmos into existence. Love is a relational term. Things cannot love. Only living beings are capable of doing that. "God is Love" and so we humans each have a calling to love our Creator, and every other human on the Planet Earth. Jesus said that includes our enemies. And so this 'Love' is grander than 'Like'. It has a much larger meaning than it is often given in our world.
I understood that this is our Prime Directive and Purpose as Human Beings.
Hey! We have not been created to just go through endless repetitons only to die, and become part of the ground again. We have been made for "finer things than Death and Lust."
Genuine Love, can only be generated from the heart of someone who is linked to the Living Spirit of God, to the Living, resurrected Jesus Christ, and to The Heavenly Father. Only when we are plugged into the Savior, are we functioning as we were designed.
Are you aware that many scientists have expressed perplexity at the reality that humans die? That's right. Biologically we are designed to never die. They call death an anomoly. They say death shouldn't occur, but it does.
I must go for now.
Hopefully I shall return later and share more of my journey. I give total credit to my Lord and Savior. He is my reason for writing.
With much Love,
a fellow Human and poet, David Clure
