When you are diagnosed with Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) your life immediately changes. The food you know and love is immediately removed from your palate. Your meals are now bland and definitely not awe inspiring.
GERD is a reflux from your stomach into your throat. It causes you to have indigestion if you eat the wrong food. It can also cause you to lose your voice in many instances.
RESTRICTED FOODS:
(1) Spicy foods
(2) Onions
(3) Citrus Fruits
(4) Tomatoes and tomato sauce
(5) Barbecue Sauce
(6) Teriyaki Sauce
Anything which takes the blandness out of your food is a definite no no.
Also, you will have to sleep with your head elevated four inches. Another life changing event.
Watch the mediations you are taking. Medications have good results but they have on the other hand many side effects.
Osteoporosis medication under all of the several names it goes under has the side effect of GERD.
Be aware if you are taking any of the Osteoporosis medications on the market today the only people winning are the Pharmaceutical Companies. Money is what makes the world go around and to whose expense?
