Is breakfast lunch and dinner a war zone in your home? Does your family disagree with the food they are eating? Do your kids eat correctly? Do they eat fruits and vegetables? Do they drink sodas and eat junk food?

All kids love junk food and it is okay up to a certain point but when it becomes the normal everyday substance for our kids -then we have a problem.

 I wrote an article called FEEDING OUR CARS and somebody put a comment on this article. I will share with you that comment.

I said that feeding our cars since the price per gallon of gasoline is so high it is taking food out of our children’s mouths.

The person that commented on my article wrote - we should not take food out of our children’s mouths but we should stop buying junk food.

This remark has stayed with me every since the comment was written and I just realized why.

We are backwards here. In so many homes junk food is the norm and healthy normal food is the enemy.

How did this happen?

The truth is that junk food costs are substantially higher than a nice home cooked meal - yet our kids won’t eat it and many times not our spouses.

There are many battles around the dinner table when the mother can’t get her husband to eat vegetables let alone the kids. The kids take their cues from you the parent.

In my own case my husband complained every time I served certain vegetables and to this day my daughter is an extremely fussy eater.

This is a huge problem that faces society and families as a whole today everyday over every battle - breakfast - lunch - dinner and - a snack.

The family unit has gone to WAR when it comes to nutritious, wholesome food. The mom has to daily win a battle one meal at a time.

It is so much easier to throw up our hands and say if this is what they want to eat why should I even cook? The atmosphere in my house is much more relaxed and my stress level will diminish.

It is one of these complex issues that go along with FEEDING OUR CARS that the poor working people have to somehow master.

On the television program HONEY WE ARE KILLING THE KIDS no true r word were every spoken. We can learn a lot from that program. Every parent and child should watch it together.

Today diabetes, heart disease and obesity are taking over our children’s lives and they need us the wise parents to direct them before it is too late.

Moms and dads we are at war with television, commercials, schools, movies, magazines friend’s homes, and everyday living. We love our children. We must protect them from themselves.
