This television series exploded into our living rooms on September 26, 2006. This was a new, funny, creative and highly entertaining television series.
Think about it throwing a perfectly ordinary girl, Betty Suarez into the wolves den of a hot fashion magazine.
She did not look, act or dress the part of the "Mode" employee. This is what made the show so exciting and stand out from all the other television series on television before and after hitting the television.
I love Betty, I feel very much at home with her character. The other characters on the show are all superficial in betraying their various characters.
This past season they managed to throw some romance Betty's way. The guy she fell in love with, Henry, would not commit to Betty. I wonder what her love life will be this next upcoming season. When Betty is out of character she is a beautiful young woman. When she is in character for her show, she really knows how to make her character believable to the entire world.
This is what makes a good television show great, the more diversified characters the better.
The episode I particularly loved was the one where Betty and her boss, Daniel, defied the big cheese and staged a fashion show after the official fashion show.
Betty showed ingenuity in speaking out for the mass of the people in this world. Most people do not starve themselves into beanpoles and they are working, nurturing their family's everyday of their life. "Where are the clothes these people are suppose to wear?"
