When you are a writer you usually work by yourself. You are stuck somewhere in your home off in a quiet corner without any disturbances. This is the life of a writer. A computer and your hands and mind are all you need. You are on your own little island.
When you join a writers group you feel connected. Suddenly you are around the same crazy people with the same interests. Why do writers hide themselves away for hours a day and some all night and type on a computer?
The simple answer is love. Love of writing, love of creating, and of course it all starts with the love of reading.
When several authors and writers come together for a great mind discussion on marketing and just what they are currently working on the electrical current in the air is crackling. Ideas are exchanged and exciting minds explode with all their creative thoughts.
Yes, it is wonderful to be a writer and author. But you really need to expand your horizons and hook up with others with the same interests. You will be surprised to see how you will once again hit the computer with renewed strength and vigor.
New ideas about a book in the future or an article will start flying around in your brain and it will be hard to turn it off. If you are a writer, author sitting at home by yourself and working on a book or article - find a group with the same interests. It will rejuvenate your love of writing and even boost you into marketing your book or articles with a new vigor.
Networking with others with the same interests may bring you into the area of using your skills in other ways and new writing assignments will open up to you.
