But I did sit next to a wonderful lady who was taking a 2 day trip by train. She was a senior citizen and said her 2 daughters were distraught at the thought of her driving for 3 days to reach her destination. The train was the only alternative. She loved to look out of the widow and watch the world go by.

She was fun to talk to and said to me when did my children start being my parents? That is a very good question. All of us who are senior citizens and have children - ask that same question from time to time.

There were many people on board the train from all different walks of life, different countries, and many languages.

Riding the train is a great way to expand you knowledge, take in the culture and just sit back and let someone else do the driving.

If you get hungry, you can purchase food in the food car and if you need to use the restroom there is always one available.

It sure beats driving on car laden freeways, stress and frazzled and having to stop for food and restrooms. The train is better than the bus and better than driving.
