Public speaking can be fun but just like anything else you need training. Toastmaster’s is a good way to go. It is a fantastic program which takes you step by step through the complicated maze of public speaking.
After your speech is completed you will get positive feedback as to what you did right and what you need improvement in. The best way to get this advice is to watch and listen to the more advanced speakers in the class. These people can teach a newbie many things just by observing the way they stand and how they speak.
Another great aspect of Toastmasters is called Table Topics. This is when a person writes about ten questions. Then the Topic Master calls on the various members of the group and asks them a question. The person answering the question does not know the question in advance.
This is priceless information for many reasons. When you are on a job interview you will be able to answer the interviews questions easily. In general conversation you will be quick and witty and impress your friends.
It will also keep your mind working fast and creatively and up-to-date. All in all Toastmasters is a great communication skill. Look it up on their website Toastmasters.org and find a group which works for your time and location.
