Learning Something New
For the past 10 years I have been learning new things. Things that I have only dreamed about. But now I’m getting older and I don’t want to wait any longer to full fill my dreams.
I started with writing. I just started writing one night when I can’t sleep and now 15 books later I am a published author. All electronic books expect for 2 books which I self-published. I have never been sorry for self-publishing my 2 books. I can’t explain the feeling you get when you hold you book in your arms for the first time. There are really no words to describe this.
I then started on a new dream 2 years ago. Learning how to become an artist. I guess that goes along with writing since some books need illustrations. I have the philosophy do as much as you can yourself for 2 reasons: The first is that you can learn to do whatever it is you need to learn how to do. The 2nd is you don’t have to pay anybody to do this for you, you can do it yourself and do it the way you want.
Now I am into another dream. I am learning how to play the keyboard. I have absolutely no musical training of any kind. Nobody in my family growing was musical, wrote a book, or took art lessons. I guess I am carving out a new legacy for me family. I want them to learn new things and be creative.
I don’t know what I’ll attempt in the future but right now with my class of teaching students how to format their writing for e – books, my art classes for me to learn, and now my keyboarding classes my life is in a whirlwind.
I hope it never ends. It doesn’t matter how old you get. You can always learn something new.
